Royal House

The hospitality was amazing. The accomodation is together with the owners; they were great with advices how to get to places, what to visit, etc (but never prying too much). We liked breakfast on the rooftop/terrace with the Etna view (visible if she decides she wants to be seen). We also had take-away breakfast last morning because we had to rush to our train to airport. The space in the room was more than enough for us but there would be a nice touch to have more storage space, for example, luggage rack or something similar.

Everything was perfect, but just to mention something in this "did not like" section is the surrounding neighbourhood. It was mostly unclean (possibly due to immigrants), and difficult to say if safe or not. The first night we felt a bit uncomfortable but get used to it quite quickly. :) Notably, Catania has more than one district like that.

Location, equipment

This is a perfect example of what quality service for guests means. Possibly the best accommodation you can find on this budget. Everything is sparkly clean and new. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast is so full, served on a very nice terrace. The location is 10 minutes from the center of Catania and the daily market, right next to the central station and bus terminal with direct connections to Taormina or Siracusa. We felt safe walking on our own late at night (but you have to come with an open mind in Catania). And lastly but not the least: our hosts were so kind and welcoming. Grazie mille!

It has great location neat to the bus station, especially if you plan to visit Etna by bus. Beautifully served breakfast at the terase will made your day.

A small fridge could be great addition to the room
