Hotel Shina

I spent a few days in Kazbegi. I spent the last day of my trip at the hotel "Shina". I was very satisfied, attentive staff, cozy atmosphere, clean rooms, it was simply excellent. Those who are attracted by cozy atmosphere and extraordinary views should definitely visit this hotel in Kazbegi. Deepest thanks to the hotel administration.

Location is great in the city center, near grocery shops, restaurants and pharmacies

It was cold. One radiator was not enough for room, so they gave us a little electric heater. My hand cream and lip balm was frozen in the room. Also water was problematic. There was little water in the shower.

The hotel is located in the center of the small town of Stepantsminda, so no uphill walking or using a car etc needed. Everything was within walking distances, as supermarkets, bank ATMs, 3-4 places to eat and more. Property had a nice private parking space, so consider it as a bonus especially if you come by a motorcycle. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, with nice views to the mountain and Gergeti - Trinity church.

We visited Stepantsminda in the end of September/early October and temperatures were already bellow 10 degrees celcius at night. Rooms have central heating that was unavailable at the moment of visit. Staff were helpful and provided a portable radiator, but wasnt enough to absorb the humidity of the room. Breakfast was totaly basic and a bit of a strange combination of foods, for sure some improvement can be made.

Good location, nice breakfast, hostile staff.

Breakfast starts only at 09:00.

Maria seemed like the only English speaking staff, but she was very nice and was also working at the hotel's restaurant. The other staff were nice too. The breakfast was very good, apartment itself was nice although on the 2nd floor without elevator. Providing laundry service for an acceptable fee.

No curtain in the shower. Wifi reception on the 2nd floor was weak.
