Is this hotel trying to scam customers? When I arrived at the hotel at exactly the checking time of 2pm, the manager (at least what she said), called Hang, told me that they gave my room to a walk-in. The reason she gave was that I didn't answer a message asking to confirm my booking. This strange thing is that I had the booking marked as confirmed on the app. She then blamed booking.com for that mistake. The only option she gave me was to take the VIP room, but for Vnd 850k instead of the Vnd 550k I was originally due to pay for my booking. Few facts is raising suspicions here: - Why didn't the hotel getthe walk-in to take the VIP room instead of mine? - My name was at the top of a list of bookings - Once I checked the messages that I missed. I could see that I had 2 from them. One asking me to confirm my booking before 6pm, and the other telling me my booking was canceled due to not receiving an answer from me. The dodgy thing here is that both were sent at exactly the same time, 12h21. How could I have answered positively anyway? At the end, I had no choice but to take the VIP room and paid the extra Vnd 300k as it was a very busy night in Da Nang, and all good hotels were fully booked. Once is the "VIP" room, I noticed that the bedsheets had stains on them. Not what to expect after paying a premium... On top of this, there were kids screaming very loudly in the staircase until midnight, and again at 6am, which meant no much rest. And nobody from the hotel said anything. So, i wouldn't advise staying at this hotel as it doesn't offer a good service or value for money, and it seems to try to scam tourists for more money.
