Pondok Is Oke Ricefild View Bungalow

First of all- extremely lovely hosts! Next food, breakfast was super tasty- what's more fruits were fresh from the garden. Last but not least the design and comfort of the place was just on point. I would definitely like to go back one day :)))

Water that you can apparently drink- I think as non Indonesian person better not.

Kleinschalig (er zijn op dit moment 2 kamers) met een fijn zwembad op prachtige locatie!! Perfect om even bij te komen en de Ijen te bezoeken. De eigenaar biedt de tour naar Ijen als private tour aan waardoor je ook nog eens ontzettend veel over de omgeving komt te weten. Het eten komt allemaal van eigen tuin wat ook heerlijk was!

We hebben bij twee restaurantjes in de buurt een keer gegeten, wat ook heerlijk was. Voor ons geen probleem, maar veel verder weinig restaurants in de buurt, dan ben je wel afhankelijk van een auto of scooter.

Host gave us earlier check in, gave us a lot of useful information, even ordered us a cab.

L’emplacement, nicher haut avec vu sur les rizières alentours, la piscine (qui mériterai d’être mieux entretenu), la literie incroyable, la nourriture du restaurant était très bonne (choix quand même limité en terme de viande, uniquement du poulet et très petite portion). Le personnel a été très arrangeant, et nous a aider à organiser notre trajet pour aller à Bali pour un prix très raisonnable. Service de laundry superbe.

Notre séjour aurait pu être exceptionnel, mais nous avons ressenti, surtout au début, que nous étions un peu de trop. En effet, les propriétaires habitent à l’étage au-dessus. Nous n’avions pas prévu d’excursions et étions venus pour nous reposer et travailler dans un environnement calme. Malheureusement, les enfants faisaient du bruit dès 6h du matin, ce qui nous réveillait systématiquement. Nous avions également l’impression d’être incités à nous lever tôt, avec un message WhatsApp envoyé dès 7h pour nous demander ce que nous voulions pour le petit-déjeuner. De manière générale, nous avons eu le sentiment qu’il était préférable que nous ne restions pas sur place en journée, ce qui n’était pas en adéquation avec nos attentes. Par ailleurs, nous avons subi plusieurs coupures d’électricité dans l’après-midi, ce qui a également compliqué les conditions de travail. Enfin, le logement est très excentré : il n’y a rien à proximité (restaurants, commerces, etc.), tout se situe à plus de 20 minutes de marche.

Endroit exceptionnel dans les rizières et loin de tout ! Si vous prenez un scooter en location vous pourrez parcourir les alentours et c'est super agréable. La famille était hyper cool et a été super réactive. Les chambres étaient très propres et la piscine super agréable en fin de journée !

Le seul bémol c'est au niveau restaurant/nourriture, on a pas pu commander de poulet sur les 3j ce qui réduisait pas mal la carte au niveau nourriture... Cependant c'était bon pour le petit déjeuner !

The host and stuff were always friendly and helpful. They made great homemade food for any meals desired. A lot of the food was from the beautiful gardens on the property. The pool is really nice and the location is extremely relaxing. You can book a Ijen tour through the property and also arrange transportation. You can take a walk up to the Ijen Resort and Villas to get additional meals there and to have a great view of Bromo and sunset. If you hike past the Resort, there is a trail that goes through the forest. There is also a natural swimming hole nearby that you can ask the host about. You can see Bromo and enjoy sunrises from the rice terrace above the property.

J’ai passé un excellent séjour au Pondok Is Oke Luxury Bungalow. Le personnel était adorable et la nourriture excellente. Le paysage autour est magnifique et la chambre donne directement sur la piscine. L’équipe est aux petits soins et donne d’excellents conseils (possibilité de prendre un taxi, sites pour réserver le ferry, laverie etc.)☺️

Everything soon turned into a nightmare. There were a series of problems with the amenities and facility, which were resolved quickly following an episode of rage on my behalf. One mega project that this establishment still needs to work on is, in my opinion, the quality of service they offer -- both to local guests and foreigners. The locals are afterall paying guests too. And honestly, with the level of service they give us, we feel unwanted. I couldn't wait to leave. Although this whole stay was a total letdown for us, I would still recommend Pondok Is Oke to those seeking serenity and unity with nature without sacrificing comfort. Update: the internet went down completely since day 2 and just before we left, the electricity was completely gone, but we just had no strength to voice another complaint. Enough is enough.
