Oak Cottage

Very nice house in a nice location.

The beds are not comfortable and there's no parking.

The decor was generally modern and neat.

Furnishings and rugs were dirty. There was a strong smell of dog or dirty mop downstairs and a damp smell throughout. Plug-in air freshners made it all worse. The sofas in the living room were uncomfortable and dirty. Frying pans and saucepans were also dirty and had to be washed before using them. The mattress on the double bed was thin and uncomfortable. So, although the property was superficially attractive, the stay wasn't pleasant and was poor value.

Comfortable & Cosy & spacious , loved the games & books available to use & the decor , also a well equipped kitchen , was able able to complete a lot of washing & drying & had a cupboard full of products that you could side with a few meals if you needed too . Tea & coffee plus milk provided so winner really . Many thanks

Parking wasn’t so great , no real allocated space , parked at the back in the pub car park , thankfully it was closed & a resident behind the accommodation told us it was fine to park there

Great apartment! The location is perfect—close to everything. The price is very reasonable for what you get. The cleanliness was top-notch, and with 6 beds, it comfortably accommodated our whole group. Highly recommend!

The mattresses and sofas were too soft, making it hard to get comfortable. The staircase is very narrow, which was a challenge for elderly. Also, there’s only one toilet, which wasn’t ideal for our group.

Views from the 2 bigger rooms were a pleasant surprise— lovely views!!! Decor was nice, clean and relaxing. Water flow/power was very strong! Beds were comfortable. Basic kitchen needs(milk, coffee, tea, oil, salt, pepper and more were available).

Dining area just bit tight. Parking can be a bit tricky as the house is right in the junction, on-road parking along Manchester Road and Carr Road(uphill) available.

Clean and nicely decorated with good access to walks in the local area.

It’s definitely not a cottage but a terraced house on the main road (albeit lovely inside). Parking is only available on a side road - a walk away.
