Casa isabel

Casa Isabel was extremely affordable, easy to get to and with a wonderful and personable host. We enjoyed full use of the kitchen and drinking water was a bonus. A great location to explore Santa Ana.

The property itself is beautiful located closest to Center and the host is so kind and helps book anything that you need

The bathrooms were a bit dirty nothing unreasonable, but not the best

Relaxed hostel with a friendly owner and staff. Good kitchen and two good shared bathrooms with showers. Excellent wifi. A good effort was made to keep the kitchen and bathrooms clean. The other areas were sometimes "dusty" as the owner is in the process of moving from his old location to this one and the old house where he now is needs work. Nevertheless, my stay was comfortable and liked how quiet it was at night. It is a quiet residential neighborhood lacking a bit in terms of food choices, but only a several minute walk where the majority of restaurants and supermarkets are located.

Had a four night stay here when visiting Santa Ana. A bit of confusion at first with some contradicting messages on how to get to the hostel was easily sorted out with a couple of messages on Whatsapp. The owner, Manuel, was really helpful and answered all my questions on what to do and how to get around. Hostal had just recently re-opened, so there were things being fixed. However, this didn't bother me. Hostel is a 5 min walk from the city center, which meant it was quiet but still close to the shops and restaurants. Two bathrooms, one with a hot shower (I opted for using the cold as more refreshingconsidering the average temperaturs), a large kitchen, and plenty of community space to relax. I stayed in one of the private rooms with a floor fan, which had a large comfy bed and a clothing rack to hang your clothes. Overall, I really enjoyed staying at Casa Isabel, which had a more traditional hostel vibe and not too loud.

Water pressure was at one time very low (though I understood that it was being looked into, so probably being fixed in the near future). There should probably also be a rag/mat on the floor of the bathroom to dry up water after showering.

The staff was very friendly and Helpful. They had a big parking lot.

The place was filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. It looked like it had not been cleaned in months. There was a coat of dust on everything. I was afraid to put my toothbrush down for fear of what it might pick up. The shower did not drain properly. In addition, even with the fan provides the air did not circulate well in the room. We had to keep the window open for air flow and hence it was very noisy inside the room. Also we were only provides with two bed sheets on the bed and no blanket. The only good thing in addition to the friendly staff and parking was that it was very cheap.

Inside is a nice outdoor space that is partly with roof so you can enjoy the evenings in a quiet area right in front of your room.

Manuel was so welcoming and has made the hostel such a friendly place to be. The facilities need some work but I would highly rate this hostel. A bonus is the rooms are huge!

The host is so super friendly! This hostel with a little bit of work and love is going to be great! His now working on redoing the bathrooms and then the kitchen

They were a lot of moskitos

The courtyard was lovely to chill in. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you needed. Free filter water. Large bedrooms. Manuel was very helpful.

The bathrooms weren't the best. They were being renovated so I would say they would improve. Needs a little love in some places but would recommend for the price. Cheapest around for sure
