Our stay at Villa Ovita was truly exceptional, and Damith is the best host one could ever ask for. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The property itself was stunning, cozy interiors decorated with elegant little details that made it so inviting we hardly wanted to leave. The front yard was equally charming, like something out of a mystical woodland fairytale. By coincidence, we stayed during Damith’s birthday, and he and his lovely wife prepared a special birthday lunch at their home. On our last night, Damith even made us a special dinner, and throughout our stay his breakfasts were so delicious and different every single day! If you’re considering booking this villa, don’t hesitate. We will definitely be returning and recommending Villa Ovita to everyone.

Damith heeft 2 prachtige huisjes op zijn terrein in een rustige, natuurlijke omgeving. Het is allemaal met heel veel zorg en oog voor detail gebouwd en ingericht. Wij hadden met ons gezin het grootste huisje dat ook een buitenkeukentje heeft en een zitplaats voor het huisje waar je zo de natuur in kijkt. De eekhoorntjes zie je voorbij rennen en je ziet ook mooie vogels. Beneden en boven 2 prima bedden, op beide verdiepingen airco. Hele sfeervolle badkamer met een heerlijke waterval douche. Het ontbijt is ofwel srilankaans (stringhoppers met dhal) en fruit en sap en koffie/thee of eieren met brood en jam en fruit. Damith is goed bereikbaar via WhatsApp als je tussendoor vragen hebt. De lokatie ligt een stukje van de hoofdweg af (loopafstand) en van daaruit zijn makkelijk bussen en tuktuks te krijgen. Wij gingen tussendoor even aan t strand chillen bij het vlakbij gelegen Moi (met klein zwembadje) en zaten ook heerlijk bij Shanti Shanti (beide op loopafstand). De Rasta rope swing is een van de toffere schommels (voor een klein bedrag).We pakten de bus naar Galle. De Natural pools zijn op een kwartier lopen, wij namen niet de route langs de wegen, maar gingen binnendoor, leuk.

Ik kan niks bedenken wat tegenviel. Het was echt een hele fijne accomodatie.Wat het nóg beter zou kunnen maken misschien is een eigen koelkastje bij de buitenkeuken, maar wij konden zonder probleem gebruik maken van de koelkast van de keuken van Damith.

Villa Ovita est très bien située, et l’endroit est enchanteur. Le chalet est de très belle qualité, la décoration est magnifique, et tout est très confortable pour un voyage avec un enfant. L’environnement est fabuleux, nous pouvions voir la forêt depuis nos fenêtres et la terrasse où nous prenions le petit déjeuner, qui est délicieux et magnifique, donne également sur la nature luxuriante. C’est une chance de passer quelques jours au calme, avec seulement le bruit des oiseaux et de la nature. Damith le propriétaire, est très accueillant, aux petits soins et donne de très bonnes recommandations pour le voyage, les repas et les expériences. Il nous a organisé des massages directement à la Villa, et tout est fait pour se sentir bien. Merci beaucoup !

The moment we stepped in, we were struck by how beautifully and thoughtfully Villa Ovita is decorated—every corner felt both stylish and inviting. The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the little extras that made our stay effortless. Our host was exceptional: super friendly, genuinely welcoming, and always attentive to our needs.

Sadly we stayed only one night. This place is a wonderful oasis with plants and animals. From the balcony or the terrace you can watch a lot of birds and palms squirrels jumping around. The place is wonderful decorated and the host is super friendly and welcoming. We definitely recommend to start here.

Disclaimer: as a courtesy of our host we were offered a stay in another accommodation, a villa called Wild Kiss. Essentially it is another villa located on the same territory as Villa Ovita. So the following review applies to our overall stay regardless of the facility (Villa Ovita or Wild Kiss). A lovely spot The place itself looks like a cozy oasis in the jungle: apart from a place to stay you get the beautiful garden with blooming flowers and trees, as well as peculiar herbs and spices that the host uses for cooking a breakfast. From the garden you can see some wild animals like parrots, squirrels, as well as geese and a lovely dog that live within the property. The villa is a quite place isolated from the main roads which is perfect if you need some peace. However it's only a 5min bike ride to the nearest coast, and all the restaurants are within 10 minutes reach. The Wild Kiss villa was beyond amazing in terms of design and convenience: everything is brand new, beautifully made. You get everything you need - from wifi and AC to cute fancy bathrobes 😌 Super amazing host We got the warmest welcome possible from the first minutes: despite arriving super late (around 1am), Damith, the host, offered us a home made refreshment drink and showed us around. My legs were super hurting after a long tour around the island so Damith organized for us a masseur visit right on the villa for the price cheaper than it would be in the salon Damith also arranged us a bike rental for the price and quality better than we previously got in Hikkaduwa. Food (obviously) The breakfasts were a true reason to start a day: every day a new dish, home cooked, with a plate of fresh fruit and fresh juice. Yum!
