The machiya was not well restored in minimalist style, contemporary but preserving the simplicity and the ambience of the original machiya. Space was limited but still allowed for 3 comfortable bedrooms, each with its own complete bathroom.
I slept in the tatami room on a traditional futon. I feel it could have been more comfortable. But the room was beautiful.

The property has a very beautiful interior and has three separate bedrooms and three bathrooms, which fits perfectly for our group of six adults. The location is very nice, walking distance to Gion and Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
The bathroom with the big bathtub was very cold at night. There is a heat up floor that should help but we ended up didn’t have chance to enjoy that as much as we would like. The traditional bedroom downstairs is a bit small.
