The Pelican

I loved the balcony. We spent hours every day out there. The beds were comfortable, I could hear the ocean from my bed so I slept so well to that lullaby. The bedding was just right. It was quiet in the building and the area, the location was great with good restaurants nearby. The living room had two couches so all four of us could sit comfortably. The furnishings were classy, and everything was spotless. Ray, our host, was always available by text and always helpful. I’ve stayed at lots of rentals , up and down the east coast, and this was one of my very favorites.

The TV was frustrating for us and we couldn’t really figure it out, although Ray was very helpful. Someone more technologically savvy than us would have done fine with it. And we old folks would have liked grab bars in the showers, but otherwise the place was just right. And maybe the directions should mention that while it’s called The Pelican, it’s in a condo building called Amelia South, not the building two doors down called the Pelicans. We were confused.

Outstanding stay and visit to Amelia Island. The condo was perfect. The view, the amenities, cleanliness, etc. It was a great choice and we highly recommend to anyone. Ray the owner was great to work with and very accommodating! Loved it!

Shower pressure could be better…but I always take out the water savers when installing shower heads. Understand why the owner might leave them in.

The kitchen Was furnished very well with supplies for cooking; the game table in the living room was fun and the beach view was excellent. We arrived late and it was a bit difficult, figuring out how to go to our room and get in.

At 10:23 pm a resident knocked on the door to remind us that quiet time starts at 11pm. We read the rules, we knew that.

Everything was lovely. Clean and welcoming condo. Decor was attractive, furniture comfortable, appliances all good and directions were helpful. We would have liked more cooperative weather so that we could have enjoyed the beach and pool. Perhaps another time.

Received door code before scheduled check in. Nice location. Clean, well maintained, beds comfortable, nice view of ocean and beach, easy parking.
