Udawalawe Safari House

FABULOUS!!! Amazing value, very friendly & helpful staff. Food was delicious!! and plentiful. Rooms were large & spacious. Swimming pool area with Sun lounges. ( probably loose the Sun about 4pm ) I would definitely recommend you stay at udawalawa safari house!! We think our best stay in Sri Lanka so far !!

We absolutely LOVED our stay udawalawe safari house! After changing our plans and coming to Udawalawe a night earlier than planned (and in need of some luxury), this place was exactly what we needed. The hosts were so friendly, the buffet dinner was delicious and great value and the swimming pool was amazing. They organise safari for us with easy and served breakfast on return. The rooms were well sized and comfy. Would 100% Recommend!

I am very happy with my choice of this hotel. It is located just a 5-minute jeep ride from the national park, yet far enough from the main road to ensure complete peace and quiet. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful garden, where peacocks, squirrels, lizards, and other wildlife freely roam. It was wonderful to be immersed in the sounds of nature, making it feel like an extension of the safari experience. The rooms, especially those on the first floor, are spacious and very comfortable. The food was good, with both à la carte and buffet options available. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the pool was well-maintained.

This is the most incredible family run hotel, I cannot praise it enough. Located just down the road from the National Park so it's the most perfect resting spot either before or after a Safari. You cannot really describe the tranquility and peaceful ambiance of this hotel, it is incredible! The rooms are immaculately clean, really comfortable and well presented. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful and were so kind and friendly to both us and our children. The hotel has a fantastic pool which is the perfect place to cool off in the afternoon. The food is some of the best that we have tasted whilst travelling Sri Lanka, completely delicious and freshly cooked dinner and breakfast. The value for money is excellent and you get the feel of high end at a really reasonable price. I'd say that this hotel is a must stay whilst visiting this area. We plan to return on our next trip. The host was so friendly and arranged everything to do with safari the night before. The food was amazing and for such a good price, it was really nice to have a sun lounger and pool experience! The safari was excellent so definitely recommend the early wake up

It wasn’t the most social event for a solo traveller but that is to be expected and not the fault of the owners.

Nice and clean swimmingpool, location perfect for Safari. Room was OK for that price. Big comfortabel bed with klamboo. Friendly host who arranges safari.

Only thing: NO AC in our room, only fan. Very hot at night. Bathroom hot water was difficult to manage.

Great value for money. No pressure. Clean. The breakfast was the best we've had in sri sri.
