Newark Central Cottage

The pictures didn’t match our cottage there was stains all over the floor in the bathroom and downstairs in the living room. We was staying at the cottage as a four and there was only 1 cup and 2 forks. There was no lock on the bathroom door neither did it shut so one of us had to keep holding the door shut when the other one was having a shower or going to the toilet. The kitchen was very dirty. This definitely wasn’t worth £300 the details of the property said we would have coffee sugar and tea at the property which there wasn’t any and also gave instructions to use a coffee machine and didn’t have one of those either. All utilities were filthy.

I was booked to stay beside family for a family gathering, 1.5 days before our early morning flight was due, this company messaged me to say I could not stay at the property I had booked for me and my children and rehoused us miles away from my family which was very inconvenient as we didn't have a car. They did not compensate me for this inconvenient disruption and the apartment they placed us in was nothing like what i had paid for and booked and their good will.gesture was basically fxxx off, the new.property charged a damage waiver fee, God help us I don't know why as there was nothing there only beds and a worn out sunken couch, no table more chairs for us to sit on, there was an insufficient amount of plates, dishes etc for me and my 4 kids aged just 11 years down to 5 years old. I would not recommend it. I would say run miles away from booking with Newark Central Apartments. You don't know who you are booking with, they do not oblige you in any way, not nice to deal with.

Nothing we were told the day we arrived that the property was no longer available although we had booked and paid 3 months before

The property was already occupied when we arrived and we had to cancel our trip pay for emergency accommodation and go home

I didnt like that had to PAY a deposit 200 gbp and this after booked through booking.com didnt give the key until PAID it so had no choise than to pay becuase can not cancell the booking , the bed was not larg was 2 small beds putting together and was not comfort at all , I DONT RECOMAND THAT AT ALL

It was clean and tidy and as I was visiting someone it was in a good location for me. Close to convenience shops.

The cold water tap in the bathroom didn't work so there was no cold water. Beds are not extra large or double but two singles pushed together making it uncomfortable should you go towards the middle. TV had limited channels which were available via WiFi which was not reliable

The location was the best aspect of this place. The beds were fairly comfortable compared to some we experienced on our UK trip!

It’s just no frills accommodation. Don’t book it for a holiday treat and don’t expect any welcoming extras. Sofa in the lounge was extremely worn out and uncomfortable, the bench seats at the dining table were just brutal to sit on for more than a few minutes. Back garden is just a miserable concrete and fake grass yard.
