Shiant View

This is a proper home from home providing everything you could possibly need and more. Really clean, very comfortable beds. ReAlly a property to suit everyone whether a couple like us or all the family. The location could not be better, fantastic views and wildlife. Isobel and Ken were their to greet us and gave a fantastic overview of the house and islands.

A wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable and immaculately clean. And the hosts are really nice and very welcoming .

A stunning location. The cottage was very well equipped,clean and comfortable with outstanding views. We were greeted by our hosts who explained how everything worked. The fresh flowers and wine were very welcome after a long drive. The cottage is convenient for both Lewis and West Harris. A great find!

Everything was perfect

Everything - spotless, comfy, warm, well-equipped, in the most stunning location. A pleasure to wake up to the view, a pleasure to return to each evening, we didn’t want to leave. It was so peaceful to sit outside listening to nothing but birdsong and sheep. Incidentally, the booking.com entry says that there is no parking - however, there is a wide drive and parking area for at least 2 cars.

I was a bit anxious about the 15 minutes of single-track road to get to it, and about the remote location. However, meeting another car was a rarity, my daughter enjoyed driving it, and the views were breathtaking. It didn’t actually feel at all remote once there, as it is nestled in the charming little village of Orinsay. No phone reception for Vodaphone, but it didn't matter as the internet was perfectly fast enough for sending messages and pictures home.
