nice quiet area

Poor signage, difficult to find the place. Reception is in another place, about which there is no information. Room for two people, towels only for one, no hair dryer.

"Amazing large comfortable room in beautiful setting"

Friendly people and the room that we were given was huge! It was very clean with tea and coffee facilities. You could also use the kitchen and lounge downstairs.

"Good base for drivers, some maintenance required"

9.0

I was going to give this an 8 but pressed the wrong button and can't go back without losing all the details below! Self contained, spacious and quiet with parking right outside the door. Was worried it would be a bit cold but the thick curtains kept it toasty. Comfortable bed and having a microwave and fridge meant I was able to save on meals for the trip by doing a 10min drive to a nearby supermarket. The pub/hotel where you check in has an ideal menu for the hungry traveller and the portions were enormous, the pie was just what I needed after a five hour drive. The location is ideal for exploring the local area by car as you are within an hour's drive of a number of major historical sites and pretty market towns, not to mention the coast.

Some issues with the power sockets - every time the fridge finished a cooling cycle the bedside lamp would flash on briefly as if there had been a power surge, which was a bit concerning. I imagine the noise of the fridge would also be a deal breaker for people who can't sleep with any kind of background noise but I didn't mind it. No WiFi - the staff at the Crown were very helpful despite how busy it was and did suggest a number of passwords to try but none of them worked. There were a lot of cobwebs between the bed and the bedside tables. Vertical blinds in the bathroom but windows on that side looked out onto a large garden and work area, I would recommend some of that stick-on frosting to ensure guests' privacy and comfort during busier periods. Could do with a light or clearer signage at the entrance as arriving after dark I almost missed the driveway and had to execute a turn that The Sweeney would have been proud of. Luckily the traffic was non existent after 8pm. That said, this seems to be a Norfolk thing as I had the same problem with a couple of sites I was visiting!

"Ideal stay"

8.0

Set in a quiet location, with lovely views. Very spacious room, with comfortable bed and large bathroom. A large shared lounge and kitchen were available down stairs, should you need to use them.

Bath did not have a shower facility, so unable to wash hair, with no hairdryer available. Housekeeping just needed a few extra touches in areas. No signal on tv.
