Ewe Cottage

Great location for the Tissington Trail and the DofE meeting point in Ashbourne. Easy to find and check in, it was clean with plenty of room and handy cooking facilities. I appreciated the useful extras like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. Stayed with a small group of teenagers the WiFi and TV were good to have, and the beds were firm but comfortable.

It was a bit cold. I expect I may have been able to adjust the heating but didn’t like to fiddle with the settings. The heating came on as we were packing up to leave in the morning.

We had received a code on the morning we were arriving. Very quite area to be in and you are a short walk away for amenities. You're able to log in to your own accounts on the TV. An enclosed garden area was very helpful with our dogs. Leaflets for local attractions and restraunts were provided. A coffee machine was provided and having 2 bathrooms was a great asset.

Slats we're broken on the bed in the main bedroom so we had limited sleep. The height of the sofas in the living room made it difficult for everyone to see the TV. Carpet grippers on the carpet stairs were poking though and someone had cut their toe slightly. 2 beds were small doubles and were not big enough for a couple to sleep in, resulting in feet hanging over the end of the bed. We had booked for 8 people so this was not ideal. 3 plates had chips in and 2 mugs had chips in. Dinning table was quite wobbly but did the job. We couldn't close one of the windows in the top bedroom without lifting the curtain pole first.

The house was just perfect for our families get together. Perfect location for day activities like walks to the Stepping Stones. The house covered all basics needed to relax even with 5 young kids and 3 adults.

We loved everything, we would stay there again.

Just the bathroom was a little dated. The pressure on the shower and the temp it wasn’t hot enough.
