The grass wasnt cut especially around the cabins and tents which led to there being alot of mosquitoes about

Breakfast didn't look amazing

Beautiful location and grounds, it was absolutely gorgeous! Would come back in a heartbeat. The weather was amazing for us so we could spend time in the pool and walking around the gardens, it was so tranquil. The library is an amazing space and you could spend hours there getting lost in books.

Fridges would be good in the accommodation. Lighting in the main room/bathroom wasn’t the best. Although it’s nice to have a break from the internet, there is only WiFi near the library area. Where we stopped at buterber there was no signal or WiFi. The breakfast was overpriced I think for what it was. Also when you sit outside the cafe there is a sewage smell which isn’t nice when trying to eat. Also would have appreciated someone on site after the cafe closes at 8/9. It would have been nice to have had the opportunity to grab a drink or a snack later on.

We had such a lovely stay with Teddy! The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with so much space to relax and enjoy nature. Waking up to the sound of birds singing made every morning feel so peaceful. The mineral pool was a real highlight for me – the perfect place to unwind. Teddy was just as spoiled, with wonderful lakes and a river where he could safely cool off and enjoy plenty of swims. It really is a fantastic place for both humans and dogs to recharge. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature that welcomes dogs just as much as their owners, we would definitely recommend it. We'll certainly be back!

They have run out of food on Tuesday evening

The staff are super friendly, the facilities are beautiful and they’re exceptionally dog friendly.

We had an issue with a guest next door to us acting inappropriately towards my partner and me (not the retreats fault at all) but they handled it perfectly, it turned a quite sour situation into making us feel relaxed and supported again.

We really enjoyed our stay at West Lexham Wellness & Retreat Centre. We were travelling mid-week with our dog, and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and full of nature. It’s a place where you can walk for a long time without seeing people, which gives a deep sense of calm, privacy, and relaxation. One of the highlights was the very nice, clear mineral water swimming pool — it was refreshing and added to the feeling of wellbeing and connection with nature. The energy of the place feels very positive and uplifting. It seems the owners have truly thought about every detail, creating a welcoming and harmonious environment for guests

The only thing we would like to mention for improvement is our initial accommodation. We originally booked a tent, but on arrival it did not fully match the photos shown on Booking.com. Our tent did not have a wooden base, and there was also no lake view, although it may simply have been obscured by the surrounding greenery. It was quite different from what we expected based on the listing. Because of this, we decided to upgrade our stay and paid an additional £100 for two nights to move into a cabin, which was much more in line with our expectations. Regarding the food, our experience was mixed. On the first night (Monday), we had dinner at the café and it was absolutely amazing — as a vegetarian, I really enjoyed the Indian food and it was one of the highlights of our stay. However, the next day the experience was very different. It seemed to be a different cook, and unfortunately the dinner did not meet the same standard. The Indian bread we were served was not properly cooked and had an unpleasant, undercooked texture. We asked for a replacement, but the second attempt was still disappointing. This made us realise that the food experience can vary depending on the day and who is cooking. It feels a bit like you can be lucky or unlucky with the meal depending on the chef on duty, which was a little disappointing after such an excellent first dinner.
