Karin House

Good house to support a family stay. Three bedrooms upstairs and separate bath and toilet downstairs. The round bath room is a lovely feature and warm enough. Kitchen is well supplied with equipment including coffee machine and urn. There is a dining table and tatami mat room down stairs too. It was nice to live amongst locals for a short period.

The couch is soft with no back support. Better as a bed.

They basically provide everything you need. We drove, and they even allowed us to park there for a few more hours after checking out.

For some people, it would be great if there was an extra toilet on the 2nd floor where all the bedrooms are.

Best apartment house we've stayed in during our stay in Japan! Very cosy and comfortable, and excellent facilities! We had a really great time during our stay here!

The pictures gave some weird idea of this house, but reality was so much better. Nicely decorated house, downstairs you have a small kitchen, a saloon, washing machine, dryer, fridge and small freezer, bathroom (bath and shower) and toilet. Upstairs there are 3 rooms, one of them with futon beds. Next to the house there is one parking lot belonging to Karin House, very convenient when you come by car. Although we didn't see the owners, the contact through Whatsapp was very helpfull

Ther is only one toilet in the house. When you are with six people this could be a problem in "time management"(we were only with four).

Karin house is beautiful and staying here was a highlight of our trip! It is located close to the river and away from the more heavy tourist areas which we liked; we hired bicycles from a rental nearby, these were perfect for getting around and meant we could spend the day exploring most of Takayama. We would love to come back and visit Takayama (and explore more of the surrounding region) and would happily stay at Karin house again.

Everythong was very good! Modern house, perfect parking place, wash and dry machines were very good. Kitchen apliances were fully provided. Big and new house. New light controls, phones non-wired chargers!

There was one room upstares, that was smelly. We ask the owners, and they explained that the tatami floor was changed. However there was space for 6 adults even without this room.

Karin and Nicole had everything set up for our stay. They kindly had coffee and cookies available and the amenities were very easy to use. The location of the house was close to the scenic river, the morning market and many shrines!

Well-kept house, well equipped, staying there was a real pleasure.
