The Glenmorangie House

Booking may say 3 stars, but this is a 5-star property in almost every way that counts (admittedly with a price to match). With rooms and common areas done by top-notch designers and exquisite food (served at a common table), this is a luxury stay in every sense of the word. Plus, it’s in a beautiful location a short walk from the sea. And, for scotch whisky fans, there are many wonderful Glenmorangie whiskies to try. The staff are extremely friendly, responsive, and solicitous. And the little touches (quality of the robes, a dram in your room upon arrival, a larder with free snacks if you get peckish, etc) are very much on point

The redesign in 2019/20 is was well-conceptualized, but it is a bit over the top in some spaces, and we generally prefer the old design (we stayed in 2009). It is also a bit stuffier (metaphorically). Our room was quite warm, and it was difficult to get the temperature just right. The quality of the resort merits a steep price tag, but it is expensive.

O local é incrível!! O quarto que fiquei era o outono, uma decoração super estilosa e aconchegante! Cama confortável e banheiro com banheira que amamos! O jantar que estava incluído foi uma experiência deliciosa, a comida não é uau, mas valeu. Os funcionários super atencioso. Café da manhã delicioso.

It’s unique features, location for privacy and quietness.

Amazing place with quirky and wonderful design throughout. Staff were terrifically friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is straight from a design magazine and the grounds and surrounding property are exceptional (weather permitting) to sit and enjoy a tea or walk down toward the water. Dinner was terrific and creative.

Die Lage des Hotels ist fantastisch. Umgeben von einem großen Grundstück mit Wiesen und alten Bäumen, schon von außen sehr stilvoll. Herrlich der Fußweg über moosige Wiesen zwischen alten Eichen hinunter zum Meer, schöner kann es nicht sein. Wir waren in einem Cottage untergebracht (2 Erwachsene im Doppelbett und 1 Kind auf der Schlafcouch im Nebenraum). Man geht ca. 40 m über ein Stück Garten ins Hotel. Individuelles Innendesign, das sowohl gemütlich, funktional und absolut besonders ist. Das ganze Hotel ist eine Entdeckung, alle Räume absolut gemütlich. Im Salon brennt Kaminfeuer zum Aperitif. Alle Mitarbeiter waren absolut aufmerksam, extrem hilfsbereit und freundlich. Schon der Empfang war super individuell. Unser Abendessen wurde vom Koch und vom Sommelier begleitet. Ein besonderes schottisches Menü, unbedingte Empfehlung. Unser Frühstück war ausgezeichnet, Wahlmöglichkeit typisch Schottisch (z. B. Pancakes, Eggs royale, Eggs Benedict, Full Scottish …). Ergänzend dazu ein kleines, aber qualitativ sehr hochwertiges Frühstücksbuffet mit z. B. ausgesprochen leckerem Räucherlachs, kleiner Käseauswahl …

Es gibt keine Kritikpunkte. Der außerordentliche Preis spiegelt sich in außerordentlichem Service und einem ganz besonderen Erlebnis.
