Newlands Country Lodge

The location is not bad but also needs to be given attention where we were located. Looks like a very cheap place and Nothing appealing.

The place was very stuffy and not well air ventilated. There were spiders and spider webs and in all the rooms, bathrooms, showers, toilets and kitchen and ants all over the kitchen and bathrooms. The place was infested with spiders and ants. We had to go buy Doom for the spiders and ants and mosquitoe coils. We had to dust and remove spider webs from walls and the towels were hard and smelly. You can see that the place is not regularly cleaned, ventilated and well maintained. The place was not well prepared for guests booking in and we were left to our devices to clean after coming tiring journey from Cape Town on our way to Joburg. It will make a great accommodation if the owners will also give it much needed attention.

Facility was very neat and comfortable.

The road to the facility, The bedding blankets are slightly too small for the beds. The TV did not work. The microwave did not have the glass turn table.

The location was a reasonable distance from the centre of town the road were not very good

The microwave didn't work everytime and there wasn't a mop to mop the floor

Unsafe area. Stay next to a farm scrap yard. Informal settlement just a couple of 100 meters away. The house is really run down and repaired very cheaply. And badly. Did not feel safe to have my kids here.... The photos on the site must be a couple of years old...

The openness of the place. The security guys are soo welcoming and overall the place is ohkay.

The blankets had pets fur and didn't smell good, the shower had only cold water. The decoder wasn't working but that was reported to the manager immediately.
