"A wonderful stay,"

Ideal location for trips out n about. Being able to walk the dog in the wooded area and the placing of dog poo bins. Clean, safe & secure plus perfect setting

There are too many speed bumps. Locks on accommodation were sticking. Wrong keys, we think, only 1 key was right The toilet seats did not stay up.

"Nice place and site just needs a little more landlord attention"

The furnishings and beds were lovely

There were a number of issues that had been highlighted in the guest book on a number of occasions over the years but had not been resolved Light bulbs not working , missing oven glove , bathroom blinds not working so no privacy , side door was difficult to use from the outside , middle step at the front is broken , no gates on the entrances for child and dog friendly

The lodge was very comfortable and fairly clean. I had to clean the tiles behind the cooker and a few cobwebs on the light fittings, but otherwise it was clean. The beds were comfy and cozy. The site was lovely. A nice lake to walk round. We ate at the Crazy Horse Saloon on our first evening, the food was cooked well and good portions. Not sure if it could accommodate a full site as it wasn't that large, I would recommend booking a table in advance. The location was excellent for us, we visited Amble, lovely little town. Walkworth beach, Beamish Museum and Bamburgh Castle.

Unfortunately we had to chase the hosts for the key lock code as they didn't forward it in time for us to use the lodge. The bathroom light needs fixing. There was no instructions to use the fire, it was a remote control which for the life in us we couldn't get to work. No oven cloth so getting food out of the oven was a bit difficult without getting burnt hands. There was no washing machine as advertised. The lodge is supposed to be child and dog friendly, but there are no gates on the veranda so you couldn't let them out, luckily we had neither. There is a little shop on the adjacent site, but very little is stocked. Would recommend going to Morrisons in Amble if you need supplies. It would have been useful to have a dust pan and brush to clean up any crumbs etc in the kitchen. There is a shower in the bathroom, but you have to hold the shower head as it didn't fit in the holder.
