Rainforest Border Edge

Spacious clean property in a quiet area with an amazing view. Delicious food. Friendly and helpful host. I recommend doing the Forest Tour with him. He is very knowledgeable and was helpful in showing and identifying a wide range of animals, insects and interesting plants in the forest reserve.

Amila und seine Familie ist sehr herzlich, freundlich und daran interessiert, dass man den bestmöglichen Aufenthalt genießt. Das Zimmer inkl. Bad war hoch gelegen, die Aussicht super. Es war sehr sauber und komfortabel! Mit Amila haben wir an eine Tag eine Tour durch den Sinharaja Forest gemacht. Er hat ein Auge für die Tiere und die Natur, es war großartig. Das Abendessen, zubereitet von Amilas Mutter, war sehr, sehr lecker. Wir würden wieder kommen. Große Empfehlung, geht hier her!

The view is absolutely amazing! You have your private little house only for you without neighbours. The bed is very large and comfortable, the bathroom is perfect for having a shower. There are 2 tables and 4 chairs outside the apartment, on the balcony to enjoy the view. The breakfast was in the main house and was very delicious. The son of the owner is an incredible guide! He explained to us every secret of the forest. They proposed two kinds of trips: short (3 hours) or long (6 hours) and we chose the long type. At the end of the trip we bought an extraordinary honey made by a tree. You have to try :)

Just a suggestion: it will be better if you can put a mosquito net on the window in order to change the air in the room and to have fresh air especially during the night.

Erg comfortabel huisje op een prachtige locatie met een mooi uitzicht. Vriendelijke host en goed eten, zeker een aanrader.

Helaas geen airconditioning

Domek położony na wzgórzu, z którego jest niesamowity widok na dolinę. Zarówno rano jak i wieczorem cudowny widok. Siedząc wieczorem na tarasie można całkowicie przenieść się w inny wymiar. Te odgłosy natury nie do opisania, tam trzeba być. Czysto, generalnie jest wszystko co w takim miejscu jest potrzebne. Wygodne łóżko, ciepła woda, super leżaki na tarasie. Jedzenie.... pyszne!! Jak, że był to nasz 5 raz na Srilance poprosiliśmy o typowe srilańskie potrawy więc dostaliśmy dokładnie to co jadła rodzina. Mama gotuje niesamowicie. Syn jest przewodnikiem w lesie deszczowym i poszliśmy z nim na zwiedzanie. Ponad 7 niesamowitych godzin.. Zaangażowanie z jego strony w 100% chciał nam pokazać wszystko, opowiadał. Polecamy. Cóż więcej dodać? Polecamy to miejsce, nie będziesz żałować. Zdjęcia na mapy.google bo tutaj dodać nie mogę.

Dodałabym tylko moskitiery w oknach żeby można było przewietrzyć wieczorem i w nocy spać z otwartymi oknami gdyż klimatyzacji tutaj nie ma.

Prachtig zicht vanuit de kamer en ongelofelijk gastvrije familie! Echt een pareltje. De mama kookt ontzettend lekker en de zoon gidst je door het regenwoud. Aanrader!

Der Aufenthalt im "Rainforest Border Edge" war ein absolutes Highlight unseres Sri Lanka Urlaubs. Die Aussicht von unserer hochgelegenen Unterkunft war atemberaubend. Die allgegenwärtigen Glühwürmchen haben uns den Abend versüßt, während die morgendliche Geräuschkulisse uns sanft weckte. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr zuvorkommend, unglaublich nett und sehr lustig. Das Essen war wunderbar und reichlich. Das Apartment war sehr sauber und komfortabel. Der Gastgeber ist gleichzeitig ein offizieller Guide des Rainforest, so dass die Erkundung des Naturschutzgebiets unkompliziert und reibungslos ablief. Amila weiß alles und hat eine sehr angenehme Art sein Wissen zu vermitteln. Sein umfangreiches Wissen über Flora und Fauna hat uns als Biologen fasziniert! Ein absolutes Muss in Sri Lanka!

Het uitzicht! De familie! De hond! Ik heb erg genoten van mijn verblijf. Het huisje waar je een klein beetje een heuvel voor op moet heeft het mooiste uitzicht van heel sinharaja durf ik wel te beweren. Wat het extra speciaal maakte was de liefste hond die er rondliep en graag een snack en aai kreeg. Ik ga haar ongelooflijk missen. De familie is ook erg vriendelijk en lief en ik vond het moeilijk om te vertrekken. Ik heb er heerlijk gegeten. Bereid je voor op mega porties haha.

De kamer wordt warm overdag en staat vol in de zon maar het koelt gelukkig voldoende af in de avond en ik heb er vredig geslapen.
