The Chalets

The photos don't do it justice, really lovely little place. Location is good. We had storms so rain stopped play on any hiking so we went to the local pubs which were really nice, great food and drinks. Lovely view of the garden. Pat greeted us and communication with Phil was excellent.

Unfortunately we did have a power cut so the place was quite dark and we had no facilities to make tea/coffee. Not sure if there were lanterns/gas stove available but these might have been handy. That being said, we did appreciate the updates on when the power would be back on :)

The chalet was clean and cosy. Had a lovely garden and decking to sit in. Lovely pubs in the area with excellent food.

It was beautiful clean and very comfy beds. There was everything you needed and in a great location for nice walks. Half an hour from scafell pike. I would definitely recommend, owner introduced themselves and said if we needed anything to let them know and left us to it.

Perfect location for exploring scafell pike. The space was very roomy (I travelled alone but would be ideal for a small family). Local pub recommendation was spot on and the garden was an added bonus. I would definitely consider staying again in future.

Loved the balcony and bird food to feed the birds. The garden and the view. Comfy settee and beds. Location good for the hills and west side of the lakes. Good local pubs.

Could have done with more towels, only 1 hand towel.

What a beautiful place to stay! The Chalets are perfect if you want to get away from it all. The gardens and surrounding areas are beautiful. The Chalet itself was immaculate and had everything you needed, it was home from home. All mod cons, they'd thought of everything, it was absolutely brilliant, couldn't ask for more. There were 2 lovely pubs about a 10 minute walk away and the food at both was exceptional! The little train station is just down the road and it takes you on a fabulous trip to Ravenglass and back again where you can visit ruins of Roman baths and visit the village pub and the train museum. The walk to the local shop was about half an hour to 40 min walk or you could drive there in 5 minutes. The wildlife here is superb and it's lovely to watch the birds feed from your decking and watch the rabbits in the garden. It's right by the river as well and you can see it on your walks and the train hoots and goes by over the road where you can wave to all the passengers on the small guage steam train. The drive to Scafell Pike from here is about half an hour away and what a wonderful area that is too! All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay, thanks to Pat and Phil too, especially Pat who supplied me with a flask for some tea when we had a power cut, lifesaver!..and Phil thanks so much for sorting it so quickly! We highly recommend The Chalets and we'd love to come back.

We had quite a bit of rain....that's about it...nothing not to like, it's a wonderful place.

Perfect location and beautiful gardens. Super easy check ins and comfy beds.
