Riad Ouliya

The interior of the Riad is really amazing. You could see all the details and the work to build it, it is just wow! I had a nice big moroccan style room and the breakfast is also nice. They serve typical moroccan breakfast with bread, eggs, tea, juice and coffee. They also have a restaurant which smells great, but by the time we arrived the kitchen was already closed. They also have a nice rooftop overlooking the city and the hills in front. The service is very good. Before we arrived, someone from the hotel texted me and arranged a pick up at an easy spot (knowing that the way inside the medina could be quite confusing). Overall, I had a very nice stay there and could recommend the place.

There is nothing I didn't like about the place, but perhaps putting a brighter light at the entrance and breakfast room could make it feel more inviting and less dark, when arriving in the evening. But other than that, everything was great!

Good location if you want to stay in old Medina. Lovely old house

My room wasn’t ventilated unless I had door open to center restaurant. But I got used to it.

Taha, a staff member was especially helpful. The place is located near a parking area so access is easy. It is really nice when the staff explains things like about the petit red taxis. Fes is a confusing place, when the Riads upsell , it creates even more distrust.

I wonder if one could give input into what is wanted for breakfast rather than just being served the same things every morning. We only wanted a few of the items.

On the positive side, everything was clean, and I must especially highlight the reception staff — they were absolutely amazing. We were a group of four girls, traveling on our own, and they were always there to help us feel safe. They would walk us out early in the morning when we were going on trips and welcome us back in the evening so we wouldn’t have to walk alone in the dark. We truly appreciate their kindness and support, and we are very grateful for that.

The apartment is okay and best suited for a short stay of 1–2 nights. One downside is that it was quite cold inside, so we had to keep the air conditioning on constantly, even though we stayed at the end of November. There was also noticeable humidity in the bathroom, which was the biggest issue for us. The rooms are rather dark and don’t get much natural light.
