Temple Tree

We stayed at Temple Tree for one week and it was a very pleasant stay. The accomodation is located on a quiet street near the main road of Weligama. The rooms were small but cute and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable and we even had warm water. All in all was a wonderful stay in Weligama!

The rooms are spacious.

There is no cleaning service at all - and we stayed for 4 nights. We had to buy toilet paper by ourselves. The location is not too good and you need to walk about 20mins to everywhere. Also, they offer very over price laundry and taxi service. And the WORST part - the manager was extremely disrespectful over WhatsApp after we left the property. He texted me that he can’t get a good rate for the bills I gave him because it’s the old dollars bills - which he was the one who took the bills from me itself. He asked for me to transfer him more money to his bank account. I refused and said that the money is worth for me exactly the same no matter what kind of bill and I don’t want to lose money - after that he start to send super disrespectful and racist messages.

Kind owners.

The location is great, mattress is comfy, owner is nice guy, breakfast was good but too much volume , The coffee is the best one I had in this country .

Maybe because high humidity by the ocean, room smells a little musty sometimes

The place offers low price and the host was very kind, communicative and attentive. I was quite amazed that even though my room was on the ground floor, there weren't any ants or other insects in the room so the place is managed very well. I was provided with a hairdryer in the room after requesting even though it wasn't listed on the booking which was very nice. The place was equipped with very powerful aircon and a ceiling fan which were both life saviours after coming back from the heat.

The bathroom was quite small and the shower was right next to the toilet. After taking a shower, the toilet was wet and the whole floor was wet which meant it was hard to walk and slip. Toiletries was a single bar of soap, nothing else. Towels were pretty old and the whole property was getting renovated so it was pretty loud during the day. Location on the map looks great, but the road leading to the property gets flooded all the time which means that you end up walking in mud puddles to get to the place. There was a mini fridge in the room, but it was very outdated. Overall, it was a nice stay, but there is definitely room for improvement.
