CARBONE XXI

A great stay, a really helpful host and very conveniently situated.

We had two separate two-night stays at Carbone during our Sicilian holiday. Modern, clean and roomy with comfortable bed and great air conditioning with temperature in the mid-30s. Located a short walk from the Santa Filomena district with its restaurants and bars, and also many of the historic sites. The host Mirko was very accommodating to our late check-in, arranging another night for us to stay after our flight home was cancelled and allowing us to store our luggage after checking out with us having an evening flight. Would stay here again.

Loved the decor and the outside space was fantastic with deckchairs, parasol, sofa and armchairs. Kitchen and bathroom were modern, new and spotless.

We had a bit of trouble finding it as its in strange old building with lots of security gates, which we weren't expecting.

Too many keys The location is strange - next to a parking lot, inside a private residential building. Might be in the description, but I wasn’t expecting that.

Too many keys - big keychain to be carrying around Walls are not soundproof Lack of clarity in expectations of check-in process. Everything is done by WhatsApp, so you need to have access to roaming. The location is strange, next to a private parking lot that doesn’t look nice. The view of the rooms is to this same parking lot.

Room was beautifully decorated, very clean and the lady who met us was really lovely. Nice bed and great shower, plenty of towels, all bedding and towels were high standard.

The location, overlooking a grimy inner courtyard, is off putting when you arrive and the view from the window is of this courtyard which had scaffolding, builders vans, just generally dirty and grotty.

It was in a very good location, the design was lovely and facilities very good. Communication before our arrival and on check in was great, we wish we could have stayed a little longer.

Getting into the property had several keys and they didn’t always open on the first time which was slightly inconvenient, but not a major problem at all. :)
