Aayu Chulia - Chulia St, George Town

staff were frequently checking in on us online, making sure we were doing okay and if we needed anything. they also acted promptly to a noise complaint, resolving it within minutes. the space itself is basic but has everything we needed and it was in a great location!

not very sound proof - the walls sounded hollow so noise travelled easily from communal areas / corridors into the room. the toilet is inches away from the wall so there was very little legroom to sit properly/comfortably. light spills in from the corridor into the room. no windows in the room but we didn't mind that

The location is excellent and the facilities are very good.

The key code system for the main door can be a bit problematic.

This is a good budget option in George Town. The location was great - very close to restaurants, bars, shops and sights. But there was no street noise.

The room doesn't have a window and was also a bit noisy from people in the common area and going up and down the stairs late at night/early morning.

Le personnel est très sympa et réactif. De passage a penang nous avons passé une très bonne nuit !
