Abe cottage

The house was cozy and welcoming located in a friendly neighborhood. Everyone we met was warm and greeted us with smiles, offering help whenever we needed it. The hosts were incredibly kind and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We truly appreciated their hospitality

The house was clean overall, but I did notice some dust, especially upstairs where there is moquette and the bed is just a mattress on the floor, which made the dust more noticeable (i am allergic and I had to take a antihistamine). Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. Just a heads-up for light sleepers: there is a mosque next door, and the morning prayer starts at 5:30 AM. It wasn’t an issue for us since we were up at that time, but it's something to be aware of if you're planning to sleep in.

I guess it’s one of the best options to sleep before taking the ferry to Perhentians. It’s very clean, although strong naphtalin smell. AC works well. When we arrived there were no sheets and towels for the 3rd person but the owner organized it quickly. 5 min walk to the jetty. They are willing to accommodate your needs, so that counts for a lot.

There are no proper sheets, you sleep on bedcover kind of thing (apparently that’s how they sleep here in Malaysia). There is no WiFi! I did not know that when I booked, only found out upon arrival. It’s an ok place but for the price one would expect more.

Location was great to the ferry pier! Great spot for a stopover when travelling to/from the Perhentian islands

Mostly things out of control of the owner: - the high ceilings meant it was hard to cool the place down. It took a while to get cool - the mosques around were very noisy, blasting the prayers till later at night and started around 5am. Again, not any fault of the property! I’m sure this is heard in any accommodation in the area! Just don’t expect to sleep in lol - Abe cottage has a few locations, so be sure you know which location you booked. We had a couple trying to get into the property later at night and it was a little scary as a female traveller. Obviously, they didn’t get in and realized their mistake.

place is tastefully done up. place looks relatively new. all the amenities expected are there. location is also near the jetty and various other amenities. instructions for collection sent via app.

just minor issues with the air-con. if coming in after a hot day, may wish to switch it on as takes a while to cool down.
