The location was great and the owner offered to pick us up from the airport for a fee

The airport pick up was very difficult, you would be better off either pre booking a taxi or getting a taxi at the airport. We arrived at the apartment and I was very uncomfortable from the outset, the walls and door were extremely grubby. There was dust and junk all through the bookcases and other furniture in the apartment. There were rags on the kitchen and bathroom floor, the kitchen bench had dirty dishes on it and it was clear the shower hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time, with mould and hair and who knows what on the shower glass. The kitchen smelt funny and the cupboard in the bedroom was full of crumpled up sheets, like someone had just taken them out of the dryer and thrown them in there. I compared the photos on the booking platform to the state of the apartment as I wasn’t sure if I was being too picky but i absolutely don’t think I was. We had originally booked for three nights but after the first night we left and went somewhere else. The owner then messaged asking why we left, if there was a problem. I initially didn’t answer but then did after he asked a couple of times, I was honest and said we didn’t feel comfortable and he argued with me! He said he cleaned the apartment and he believes it’s because it’s an “old” apartment, however I’ve stayed in 300 year old buildings before and there were no issues with the cleanliness in those places. He had also demanded payment upfront and refused to refund us for the last night, despite the cancellation policy saying that I would be entitled to that. Be warned that this apartment is not what is advertised.

Right in the middle of the historical centre. Kitchen facilities. So we cooked our own food for 4 days as restaurants are a bit pricey.

The deep rumbling bass sound which starts at night and goes on till morning. However, there’s a folding bed in the living room which neutralized my negativity.

Location, location, location. The apartment is located 30 seconds walk from the main square, the presidential palace is straight across the street, the police are always there so it’s extremely safe. Great value for money, the host Fedrico is an absolute gentleman and extremely helpful and communicative

It's right next to the historical center and overall the room was ok, but in my opinion that's about it.

The room and everything in it are very old and feels a bit crowded and messy. The wifi was a mobile Phone with hotspot, but worked only if laid by the window, but also needed to be charging. Battery died and we had no sim card yet, so nothing we could do at that moment since we could not unlock the Phone. The beds were okay, the shower could have been better (irregular temperature + not so strong). Host was friendly and tried to offer help like bringing us to a restaurant etc., though in my opinion less help would have been fine and just discover on our own. It's also not the safest area in Lima, except for the historical center, but that is probably why people stay here. We didn't look good enough so thought we were staying in Miraflores, which was our own fault off course.

Location was convenient, regarding the Plaza de Armas. The thing is that no taxi or any type of transportation can access the area, so you'll always need to walk a few blocks to get a taxi or wait for your ride. It makes booking a ride a little bit difficult when you're a tourist and are not familiarized with the transit or street names.

The host cheap excuses and poor service. No air conditioning (or hair dryer), as advertise. When I claim the air conditioning situation, the host reply offering the crapy solution of a crapy ventilator. Crapy because the heat was unbearable, and no ventilator will substitute an air conditioning. Crapy because the fan was broken and because various electric sockets sparkled every time you disconnected the fan, to move it through the apartment. Because of the heat we left the windows open but as the wind got in, also the constant street noise, especially the building entrance gate, that every time it closes, made a very loud sound. Because of the proximity with the apartment, the sound was loud enough to wakes u up... A few cockroaches that evidently cohabits this place, gave us an unwanted welcome (I'll share some video screenshots) No refund or viable solutions were offered, just cheap excuses
