Dolphin Inn

Breakfast was awful, ultra processed and minimal. We were told by booking.com we could check in at 4 pm but we had to wait until 5 pm. Once we checked in, we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for our bed to be made up before we could access the room. The shower didn’t work, the tap in the sink was broken, there were electrical wires sticking out of the wall, the corridors were were cluttered with items and appeared not to be safe from a fire point of view. Only one teabag was provided in the room. The remote control for the television didn’t work. There was no central heating, all we had was a small electric heater. no key was provided to our room door so we were unable to lock it.

I had the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The "continental" breakfast was left outside my bedroom door.

Super lovely staff, felt very welcome. Lovely room and a sweet basket of breakfast foods.

Very cold. It is dated and needs renovation. A continental breakfast in a basket. I feel it was expensive for this low standard.

Location

Damp room, bed was wet with damp, no fire alarm in the building, calour gas fire in room no carbon monoxide detector, the room was not safe we could not stay and went to a travel lodge.

This is a handy small village pub for exploring in Mid-Wales and Shropshire border. Although close enough to the main road through the village to be easy to find, it is far enough away too not to suffer from traffic noise. It has a siezeable free car park at the rear.

Good location and the room was quiet. The bed is very comfortable. Wi-fi good.

No heating on the day I arrived and the following morning, the landlord that showed me to the room plugged in a small electric heater but unfortunately did not click the switch on but even with that on I was very cold. The TV didn’t work red light would come on so not sure if it was the TV or the remote! breakfast was left outside the room door and I let myself out through a side door in the morning, didn’t see anyone I felt a bit worried about being in the building on my own overnight.

Friendly pub and a great pint of 3 Tuns. No food on Sundays but Bradford Arms opposite was open.

It was all good.

The bed was comfortable and the owner was very accommodating for our late arrival.

Generally clean, but the shower was awful, poor flow and either scorching hot or freezing cold. Room was freezing cold and the windows desperately need replacing. The breakfast wasn't ideal but we were grateful for it. No hair drier and only a single tower left out per person.
