Hillside View Staithes

Everything was excellent...very clean and had Everything you could want and an ideal location.

Only thing needed is a Bannister especially for elder people or children. This is only a bit of advice as everything else was really good 👍

Good location, very clean, good value for money

It was freeeeeeeezing in the property when we arrived (was in February) but it didn't heat up for hours.

Great location and loved parking at the property

squeaky beds, white bath towels need replacing, radiator in bathroom coming away from wall, Kitchen T towel not fit to use , grass needed cutting in the garden.

Perfect home in good location for exploring the surrounding areas. Huge bonus having the off street parking and enclosed garden for our small dog and anyone with children. The beds were so comfortable 😌. The house looks so fresh and bright 🌞. The small coop at the end of the road have a very good selection of most things you would need. Sampled the local chippy on the first evening...absolutely delicious 😋. You are tucked out of the way at Hillside which is lovely and quiet but you can easily walk to shop, chippy and of course the beautiful Staithes whilst leaving the car at "home" no worries about where to park. We were able to spend our first day in our family favourite Saltburn 😍 and the final day visiting Runswick Bay and Whitby. We would most definitely book again and recommend 👌

Good location

TV is not working, and I had to use Netflix. Shower over bath very difficult to get in and out of.

1.Internally very clean and tidy. 2.Warm & cosy on arrival. 3.Pet friendly. 4.Excellent location for easy walk into Staithes. 5. Nicely decorated.

1. Uncomfortable steel framed squeaky Double bed 2. No tea towel 3.External front 2 wheelie bins full of rubbish with seagull issue caused by uncollected rubbish, garden furniture at rear messy 4. Difficult to climb into (bath/shower) due to boxed in bath front.

Quiet location, short walk into the village.

TV not working, called the number provided to be answered by a woman based in Manchester who said they were unable to help, but she would see if the cleaner could pop in and take a look. Cleaner arrived a short time later but was unable to get the TV to work either (not really her job, to be fair to her!) Also noted the heated towel rail was loose in the bathroom. It was mentioned that the owner was already aware, but clearly not fussed about sorting it out swiftly. The back garden was shabby and need of attention, with multiple cigarette ends left out. Afraid I have to agree with other reviews noted about the property; the owner takes no interest in fixing issues that appear to be highlighted over and over, but is happy to charge close to the same price as the more characterful properties in the village.

Another faceless cash cow of a property - felt guilty staying as it has yet another absentee owner - this one lives in Mexico and the place is managed by a company. It shows in the bland feel of the decoration and the sad featureless low maintenance 'garden'. These places lack individuality because they have never been lived in by their owner. Instead they are entirely set up to make money for people who aren't local. In fact this property might once have been a council house available to the local fishermen or women, but now it's just for tourists. Next time I think I'll get a BnB, at least you aren't adding to the housing crisis for so many people born and bred on this coastline, whose ancestors actually created Staithes and gave it all the character we love. Now the village is turning into just another soulless shell for short tern holiday makers (sadly I felt part of the problem) and boomtime for opportunistic investors.
