Hillside View Staithes

This is a comfortable, well equipped property, with good double parking places. The kitchen / dinerwas very well equipped. Towels and linen provided were good, beds ok, and a very good shower. The heating was good for radiators and hot water.

The WiFi service was totally broken/ out of service for all 3 days of our stay, so the TV was out of operation too. No property book, so no instructions for boiler, or oven or anything. From other comments on this property an instructions book has been promised for many months now but obviously not forthcoming. The stairs are steep and a handrail is required urgently for safety reasons. The bath needs rails to aid getting in and out of bath tub, which is very high sided, slippery and dangerous, an accident waiting to happen. The service provider tried to address issues remotely, and did help us to get the boiler working, but couldn’t assist us wrt WiFi. The owner needs to step up and fix the issues or significantly lower the prices.

Location is spot on easy walking distance to the beach

Bath mat needs to be rubber backed slipped a couple of times getting out of the shower, floor is highly polished tiles and bath mat slips very easily.

It was clean and comfortable. Good location close to village, pub and local bus service. Nice outside space and free parking.

An information booklet would be helpful about the house and local amenities. We also found the bath quite difficult to get in and out of .

It was filthy, dog hair everywhere, plus generally dirty. There was supposed to be WiFi but it was cut off so no tv or phones for the whole trip, as there’s no signal in the village. The boiler kept loosing pressure and switching the hot water off. The below pictures show some of the dirt and hair all over the property. Stay well clear until it’s deep cleaned. Plus when they pay their WiFi bill.

Quiet location, space for parking, treats for the dogs (and us!) left out. Plenty of room for the two of us and the cage for the two dogs. Beds comfy. Saltburn/Whitby etc within easy reach

No handrail on the stairs, the shower was over the bath and difficult to get into because of the tiles surrounding it. An information booklet would have been helpful detailing local pubs, parking restrictions 'down the hill' and how to work the TV. (We did get it sorted though)

Only 1 tea towel didnt tell you where dishwasher tablets were Needs a drop kerb to get on drive as it could damage car and no where else to park Internet was very poor stoped working after 10 and didnt work again till mid morning only netflix to watch on tv Garden wasnt as big as it looked in photo

Lovely house, clean and tidy with well equipped kichen. Ideal location for visiting Saltburn, Whitby etc - wish we could have stayed longer!
