Ash Cottage

The location & proximity to restaurants etc is great, I really enjoyed this stay. Surprisingly big property, great facilities, parking plentiful, I will definitely book again!

The only downside (literally the only one) is it gets cold if the heating isn’t on. Great when it’s on but house loses heat quickly so whilst I’d try not to hammer the heating, bear this in mind.

The cottage was stunning and so much bigger than it looks on the photos, the beds are very comfy. Everything was immaculate, the decor is gorgeous and it is so cosy! The gas fire was lovely and warm and we felt so safe all weekend. It’s also so close to the centre of Windermere, the location is great! When we arrived we were a towel short as there were 5 of us staying and after messaging, Steve came straight away to give us another one. Will definitely be staying again!

Honestly nothing! We wished we’d booked to stay longer.

Close by town, lovely clean, quiet, well equipped. Everything was just perfect.

Great location to walk in to Windermere and down to Bowness on Windermere. Good sizes bedrooms and a huge lounge room.

The location was great, very quiet, and only a short walk into Windermere for the restaurants, bars etc. The sound of the stream running at the bottom of the garden was lovely. There was a designated parking space which may have accommodated 2 small cars, but there was additional room in the cul-de-sac too.

Nothing to dislike. It would be really useful if the heating could have been controlled with a simple temperature dial, it was difficult to get right and therefore rather warm on occasions. For info, the booking.com list has free toiletries ticked; this included liquid soap and toilet roll in each bathroom, and cleaning materials, but doesn't mean shampoo/shower gel. We had misunderstood initially, but not a problem for us.

Well located in a quiet area close to town. Nice sounds of the stream running across the back of the house. Dedicated parking space. Spacious living room and kitchen with good supply of dishes and utensils. Carton of milk in the fridge supplied on arrival. House was clean and tidy throughout. Comfortable beds. Lovely bathrooms.

The house was nice and warm, sometimes can get too warm with the heating on. Couldn't find any heating/timer controls. Need to bring your own shower gel/shampoo etc. Towels supplied had a musty odour, but overall would come back again.

Walking distance to the centre, but lovely and quiet location with designated parking spot. Really spacious living room! Communication from the hosts was great. We had a great stay!
