Velluto Suite Apartment

If you like smell of mold and don't care for your health then this is perfect for you. But i choose to rather sleep in my car!

In my 20 years of traveling, I have never encountered such a strong mold odor in an apartment. The old couch had a sour, almost fecal smell, poorly masked by cheap perfume. This goes beyond unpleasant—it’s a serious health hazard. While I can tolerate the frequent noise from planes taking off every 10-15 minutes due to the nearby airport, it’s truly shameful for the owner to rent out a room in such a condition.

The space was OK, there was a kitchenette, but no supermarket nearby and no restaurants either You had to come prepared with your own food. No breakfast was provided, but there was coffee, sugar, salt and pepper....

It was very hard to find, although 'near' the airport... Above a 'gelateria', but no street number, a locked door and no one on location. I had to ask the help of the gelateria to call the number, and had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come over with the key. Next to a main road with intense traffic, the apartment was rather noisy with the window open. Driving a car back to the airport was very complicated, with a maze of dead end streets.

Doing a 2 month roadtrip around Europe and with so much to see we chose Bologna as a five day base from which we could explore. Location, outside of the city, was perfect for us and was very easy to find off of the main motorway. Private parking was big and secure and the apartment was very well equipped with A/C and shutters. There isn't a great deal local as mostly Industrial but that suited us as we were out all day and used the kitchen to prepare evening meals after the long days. The train station is about a 10 minute walk and then it is only 10 more minutes into Bologna Centrale at a cost of only €1.50. From here we were able to get trains to Venice, Florence and Pisa. Communication was great and, when we had a little car trouble on departure day, host was very helpful and flexible. Apartment gave us just what we needed at a fraction of what it would cost to stay centrally especially if driving.
