South Street Apartments

Well presented and clean

Lots of stairs and communal areas a little tatty. Street outside was home to some unsavoury types.

The apartment is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Its equipped with everything you might need for a short trip. The location is perfect, less than 5-mins from the train station and shopping mall, lots of shops and supermarkets in the area.

There’s no elevator! It’s fine being a 3-story apartment complex but I had 2 luggages with 30kgs and another for 10kgs and the stairs were too narrow. Also there’s a pub downstairs and you can hear the karaoke and partying in both the bedrooms until late hours (I’m talking until 4am). Thankfully I had my white noise machine and was able to sleep through it but was difficult the first night. I think it’s important to note in the description of this post.

The property was clean, light and airy and all round very comfortable

The area didn’t feel safe for 2 women travelling. Once inside the apartment though it was safe and secure

The apartment is well set out, clean and in a very central location, right next to all the amenities and very close to the city hall, with a good 24 hr car park less than 5 minutes walk away on Osbourne Street. The staff were contactable and helpful. The bed was large and very comfortable.

The down side to a central location is the street is very noisy with people being rowdy from the bars and the street sweeper. To be fair, in the one bedroom apartment, the bedroom is away from the street noise. The hot water is VERY hot. The two bedroom apartment would benefit from velux blinds in the living area for when the sofa bed is being used. No tin opener in the one bed apartment. A very dodgy tin opener in the two bedroom apartment.

The windows didn’t lock so was a slight breeze and it sounded like u had the window open constantly

Absolutely stunning place to stay, brilliant it’s right in the middle of the city centre and a 5 minute walk to the train station.
