Tanakaya Kyoto Karasuma

Wonderful little hotel in a great and quiet location. We walked from Kyoto station to get there and that was possibly not the best idea with 2 large suitcases, would not recommend doing that! Great access to Nishiki market too. Hotel room was small (we were a family of 4 with 2 teens so a bit tight but weren't in the room much) but beautifully done (wooden carvings, all sorts of beautifuldetails), we had 2 beds and 2 more that we made on the tatami section. The room had tea and coffee facilities, a small fridge and a microwave. The bathroom was beautiful (tub and sink were gorgeous). The staff were very friendly and always so helpful (they booked us restaurants on a couple of occasions), we could not fault them. Really enjoyed it!

Room was a tad small for 4 adult sized people (2 adults/2 grown teens) but perfectly functional as we didn't stay in the room for extended periods of time.

Perfect blend between the traditional tea area and the modern room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is close to several public transport stations, including the local trains to Osaka and Kyoto Station.

A bit humid in early spring, but the AC and dehumidifiers took care of that.

とても綺麗でした。 キッチンに食器洗剤やスポンジまであってとても良かったです。 部屋の中に洗濯機があるホテルは初めてで、ランドリーに一々行かなくてもいいので、めちゃくちゃ助かりました！凄いいいと思います‼︎

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel! Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die unglaublich freundlichen und herzlichen Mitarbeiter! Unser Zimmer war makellos sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die Kombination aus modernem Komfort und traditionellem Charme ist hier wirklich perfekt gelungen und schafft eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können dieses Hotel von Herzen weiterempfehlen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

We loved that our room had a separate area with tatami mats. The staff went above and beyond, helping us with luggage transfers and offering recommendations for food and drink

Although it was great that we had a washing machine in the room, the instructions for it could have been clearer.
