Tanakaya Kyoto Karasuma

Spacious, hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Helped to plan a surprise as well and made bookings to restaurants. We also had a washing machine and they provided many amenities like detergent coffee bath salts tea.

Location requires some additional walking but convenient nonetheless.

Very cozy family run establishment. Beautifully designed rooms with eco consciousness. Ceramic bathtubs. Staff were a delight. Wonderful quiet walking neighborhood.

Nous étions venus il y a deux ans. En rêvant à Kyoto, nous tenions à revenir dans cet hôtel. Si nous devons revenir au Japon une troisième fois, nous reviendrons forcément ici. Tout est exceptionnel. Les gérants sont si agréables. L’endroit est au calme. Les chambres sont spacieuses. La décoration est soignée et réfléchie. Nous nous sentons comme à la maison.

Tanakawa Kyoto Karasuma hotel offered a wonderful stay with its clean, comfortable rooms and warm, welcoming staff. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the service is consistently excellent. A great choice for exploring Kyoto lifestyle. The Sake testing and pairing free experience was quite delightful.

Staff was super friendly, welcoming and accommodating. There were little perks we appreciated, like fresh coffee beans and a pour-over system with the kitchenette, free bluetooth speaker, portable wifi device to take throughout the city, and Japanese bath salts for the luxurious tub.

Not the fault of Tanakaya, but there was construction happening outdoors, so having the window open during the daytime wasn't comfortable because of the noise. This was a small thing, and not a big deal at all.
