Sancreed House Cottages

We were in the self-catering cottages on our minimoon, and they were very well equipped for us to make our own late/ relaxed start breakfasts and keep our wedding champagne in the fridge! We were well set up to enjoy breakfast, and cuppas and cake, in the dining area with french doors overlooking the lovely gardens. The sauna was fantastic and we used it every day, a perfect way to relax, also in the gorgeous gardens, and Sancreed could not have been more accommodating to us scheduling our time in there! We also had some surprise freshly made cake given to us midweek, which was delicious and made us feel very welcome! The roads around are typical single track lanes in the area and your sat navs may get a bit confused as you get nearer or with which direction to head in each day, but you get used to the best ways out to explore. We were there for 4 nights and packed in a lot around Penzance, Marazion/St Michaels Mount, Tremenheere, Mousehole, St Ives, Minack/SW Coastal path walking and beaches, Lands End and would really recommend Sancreed for its excellent location to explore from, and the wonderful accommodation to come back to!

Would love to see the pool open slightly earlier (we were there the end of April in gorgeous weather and only opens from the 1st May) but appreciate this is an expense and will depend on occupancy - is only a very small thing as we had an incredible stay with plenty of facilities and plenty else we were out doing, so wasn't a priority and in no way affects our rating (still 10/10, the pool could just push to 11/10!)

Area was peacefull and quiet. Cottage was exceptional, fully equipped with everything you need.a great base to travel around the coast from.

Didnt stay long enough wish we had a couple more nights.

A detached stone built cottage with a table and chairs to relax outside. Amazing, well kept gardens. A clean good sized swimming pool, open 8am - 8pm. Clean inside the cottage with plenty of extras. Steeped in history with a short walk to the church, well and beacon is a must. Friendly, helpful hosts. A quiet rural retreat.

It was a great little apartment with a full kitchen including a washing machine/dryer. The setting is very quiet and restful, with a pool/spa available as well (we did not use either).

The only drawback was the drive to the village of Sancreed. There is a 1.5 mile drive on a 1 lane, very narrow road with many twists and turns. When we met oncoming traffic, one or the other had to reverse to find a slightly wider part to allow the 2 vehicles to pass. Every drive was 5 minutes of terror, followed by a very restful, beautiful apartment!

Cottage was exceptionally clean, fitted with all the amenities you could need and was decorated beautifully.

Location is great however the roads you have to travel down to get to the cottages are very small so you have to drive with caution. Nothing really to do with the property but more to do with the location.

The cottage was perfect for a holiday, one of our highlights of the week. It’s more beautiful than the photos on the website, very spacious, super clean and stylish, well equipped with more than what you would need for the week. We even had a delicious homemade cake on arrival. The owners really tried very hard to make you feel like home which we did indeed. The only “challenge” was to get use to the narrow bendy Cornish country road before reaching the house, but after that you enter into a world of tranquillity and peace.
