Hampton Inn Cooperstown

breakfast was great. The staff were friendly and it was only a few miles from Cooperstown! No complaints and we had been on a 2 week journey on the East Coast. Last hotel stay and it was relaxing and had it all.

Price was higher than the average Hampton Inn due to Fall Foliage travelers.

Very clean. Well appointed rooms (refrigerator, microwave). Shampoo/conditioner/shower gel smell fabulous. Decent water pressure (for a hotel — I didn’t struggle to rinse off the soap). Perfect proximity to everything we wanted to do. Super quiet location.

The bed was kind of hard (possibly because the hotel is still new and mattresses take time to break in). The pillows are AWFUL — they are loud when you move around on them; 1 was so springy that when you laid down, it practically bounced you back up; the other 3 were so flat, that it provided no comfort or support but if you stacked two of them together, it was like laying on bags of cement. The breakfast was ok but it was literally the same for the first four days of our stay; last day, they changed up the eggs from omelet to scrambled; muffins were unlabeled and I ended up with banana instead of the streusel I thought it was (I HATE BANANA). No sound insulation from the rooms between floors and the people above sounded like they were stomping around all day and night. The room directly below us was being repaired (looked like someone maybe drove through the exterior wall??) and they started all kinds of construction noise just after 7am; I understand work needs to be done but maybe hold off the banging and hammering and all that until after 8:30 or 9 since people on vacation may have been hoping to occasionally sleep in?

It is clean, however, a 2 day stay with no attention to making the beds, having horrible tasting cardboard coffee cups both in room & all plastic & cardboard breakfast utensils does not qualify as a 3 star hotel. 1 bar of soap for 2 people, no shower caps in room.

See above. Soundproofing is not the best. Could hear dogs barking & people talking most of the time. There is no real choice of tv unless you are willing to use your own subscription for Netflix, you tube, etc Sorry to say but this hotel, even though it's new, is so bare bones, one might think the Hilton is in financial trouble. Certainly not worth the price. Breakfast food was terrible. Felt bad for staff who were trying hard. Teenagers or slightly older at front desk seem friendly but not sure of themselves.
