It was a beautiful property with lovely gardens and the host was so kind offering us tea and coffee. The room was the cleanest place we have stayed in. Spotless and lovely extra touches to make us feel comfortable. Best stay in Sri Lanka so far. Breakfast was good too.

The house has a lovely veranda and it it surrounded by a beautiful garden. The hosts were very attentive and I had lovely food, too.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Samanti and her family are very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. The breakfast was amazing, delicious and varied, and plentiful!! We had dinner there both nights of our stay, Sri Lankan curry with roti/noodles. Tasty selection of vegetable side dishes and chicken. Samanti has a beautiful, garden that surrounds the house, which is in a quiet location just off the main road. And in one of her hanging baskets on the veranda, a little honey eater bird had made a nest. We watched as the mother came to and from to feed two young ones. Samanti's husband has a tuktuk, which was very handy for getting to and from Lion rock, not too far away.

One of the best guesthouses in our whole Sri Lanka stay. Samanthi and her husband are very kind and welcoming. The room is huge and has a fan, good aircon and mosquito net. The bathroom is also a good size and has plenty of hot water with great pressure. Samanthi prepared big breakfasts that were different each day. She was very helpful with tips about our trips and her husband transported us in his tuk tuk for a very competitive price. He waited for us in the rain when we got off the bus from Pollonawaru to drive us back to the guesthouse. The guesthouse has a very happy family atmosphere and opposite the private balcony is a beautiful garden that the owners take great pride in. Highly recommend this accommodation for your stay in Sigiraya. ❤️

One of the best places we stayed at in Sri Lanka! - Room was very clean, big and spacious. - Drying rack as well as a table in the room. - Property is off the main road so we had slept great each night as it was quiet. The beds both had mosquito nets above them. - The A/C worked perfectly. - Shower had hot water with good pressure. - Shampoo, shower gel, hand soap and bath towels all provided. - Comfortable seating area with tables outside the room. - Breakfast was large, different and delicious each morning. Coffee, tea, sugar and creamer available at any time throughout the day. - Owners were nice and friendly and always made sure we had everything needed. We were greeted with a delicious lime drink when we first arrived as well as midday.

Samanthi is a great hostess. She cooked lovely Sri Lankan breakfast and was always helpful when we made any enquiries. She made sure there was hot tea when we returned in the afternoon. Highly recommend the location for it's go to the lion rock and local restaurants.

A homestay with one room for travellers. (There is a second for drivers.) The facility is one year old (March 2025). Spacious neat room and new bathroom. A terrace with an outdoor lounge, with a lot of plants and decoration from local craft. The host Samanti has made much effort to make a cosy place of the homestay. Very quiet place - you hear only the sound of birds. Tea, coffee and drinking water the whole day. Extensive and delicious breakfast and dinner. The husband is also tuktukdriver. Both are very friendly, sincere and caring. They make the house to a little paradise in Sigiriya.

I had the best stay of my whole trip across Sri Lanka at the Moonlight. For a start, my hosts and their family were just very lovely, kind and helpful people. Add to that, there were beautiful gardens surrounding the house, with lots of bird life, and an overly comfortable room with a great air con, powerful pedestal fan, and hot water for the shower. The whole place was spotlessly keen and well maintained. I loved the location which was close to many restaurants, and the entrance to the 2 Rocks, although you may not want to eat anywhere else as the meals were delicious at the house. Breakfast was ample and set me up very well for the day. I'm raving, but truly, the Moonlight is just a fantastic place to stay and I can't recommend it enough. I hope to be back one day!
