Takahuri Glamping Domes

Louise and family have created a real gem, and we are lucky that they share it. Outstanding hospitality, we are farmers and we enjoyed the tranquil location next to the Whanganui River. The Dome was gorgeous, very clean and extremely comfortable bed.

The domes are very cool, and the work they did on the MTB tracks is incredible. If you love mountain biking, this place needs to be on your list.

You will be far from civilisation and have no phone coverage. In wintertime, the place gets very cold and damp.

Comfy beds, good cooking facilities and warm shower and flushable toilet. Clean. Good place to see the stars. Spacious.

Was a little cold after the fire burned out but it's winter so that's expected and there's plenty of blankets provided

Was a lovely day Beautiful sitting ideally if the fire was going when we arrived it would’ve been warmer but hey it’s Glamping ! Unfortunately we had to leave earlier - will definitely book again!

I want to shout out to Louise who was a wonderful cheerful host …was just the perfect place to relax …very tranquil, my partner Debz absolutely loved the place and explored the landscape around area…I will be recommending this location to our many friends and family.

Didn’t get to stay longer to really take in the beautiful scenery

Everything was beautiful. Despite the remote location, they had Wifi available but it was nice to switch off from the world and be present. There were mountain biking tracks/walking tracks which were beautiful. The land is very well looked after. We were thoroughly impressed. The host is amazing. She brought some home baking and even had a variety of fresh fruit for us to help ourselves to. She had the most amazing nature about her. I have no complaints whatsoever about our stay.

Host is very friendly and down to earth, Dome itself is very comfortable and nicely setup. Kitchen is sufficient and breakfast option is nice.

It gets a bit cold at night - fireplace is harder to light up But it could just being us not experienced.

The glamping domes are spacious, comfortable and Louise has done a beautiful job decorating them. It feels like home away from home. The adjacent toilet is convenient and the well equipped kitchen and nearby showers provide everything one needs. Plus Louise provided fresh eggs and muesli / yoghurt for a delicious breakfast. We had a lovely stay and will definitely return. This is THE perfect place to stay if riding the Mountains to Sea or Tour Aotearoa as the back entry to the domes through private land and back roads is a superb end to the days ride along the river and allows you to skip riding the normal route along Highway 4.
