MXI had a wonderful stay at Pondok. The tranquility of the place is amazing, and the sunrises were absolutely spectacular, with beautiful views of Mount Batur and the surrounding landscape. I was warmly welcomed by Pomo, who was very attentive throughout my stay (he’s also learning Spanish, which was a nice touch). The highlight for me was definitely the breathtaking sunrises.. if you’re lucky, you can see a sea of clouds at the base of Mount Batur in the caldera. Just a short walk to the main road, there are convenience stores, warungs, and an ATM. The temple (Pura) is nearby, and the street can get busy during ceremonies. The stairs are manageable, nothing difficult. WiFi worked well, and the breakfasts were delicious.
