Our hosts were so accommodating! They made a full- on breakfast for all of us… eggs, fresh bagels, fruit etc.

I have stayed with a lot of deadhead family across the states hundreds of thousands of family members Dave and Becky have nailed it perfectly it is so comfortable there pawn entering is just like being at home or at a good friend's house

Becky and David have created a one-of-a-kind lodging experience. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderfully delightful, inventive, crazy, unique, and special their place is. It doesn't matter if you don't like the Grateful Dead (and I never did); they have constructed an homage beyond anyone's wildest imagination. The art, both inside and on the outside of the house is bonkers and beautiful. Nick nacks and kitsch populate this shrine in every inch of the place. Your senses will be assaulted in a cosmic way. You could probably spend every day of a month trying to see everything and anything you could imagine. What seals the deal is that the entire place is so clean. The communal kitchen, and my requested vegan breakfast (which Becky cooked for me) were great. Life is toooooooo short to do the familiar----run, don't walk to their place, and prepare to be amazed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad Jerry Garcia and the marching bears were not there in person!!!!!!!

The Grateful Dead Hostel was amazing! The attention to detail was impeccable. Every nook has a nod to the GD or Jerry Garcia, etc… as a major Deadhead, I really enjoyed my stay. Becky and Dave were super awesome hosts and the breakfasts were out of this world. My kid and I stayed in the China Cat room and were inspired but the amazing decor. Close to HSU, downtown Arcata, Safeway and the freeway…the location was very convenient! Looking forward to staying there again, and again, and again!

For the money…it was perfect. I have nothing negative to say! I can’t wait to see Becky and Dave expand the houses’ rooms upstairs etc…

I couldn't have asked for a better location for our family/friends to stay for my daughter's graduation weekend. This place was amazing!! Dave and Becky were amazing hosts and made our stay so much more then just a place to sleep. Every morning started with an amazing breakfast. They even accommodated the guests that weren't staying at the house (for an additional fee of course, but worth every penny!) They catered an amazing dinner for our whole family on Friday night that was amazing and perfectly casual and yummy! The decor is more then the eyes can take in! So much history and memorabilia but also all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. Bathrobes in every room, 3 toilets, large sinks, 2 showers, everything you could need incase you forgot it and they are just a call away if you need something! We didn't want to leave!!! We aren't huge Grateful dead fans but we loved the decor and all the little touches that Dave and Becky put into this little slice of heaven. If you just a fan of this era in time you will love it! This house is perfect if you are just traveling around the area, need a place to get away, want to see one of the most beautiful areas of California or just need a place to crash for the night! You will feel right at home! There are 3 rooms each with their own doors and locks. Set up like a hostel or B & B but you feel like you are staying with friends. We had all three rooms and it was perfect for everyone to have their space and a space to come together! Can wait to see the new addition because we will definitely be back!

I made one suggest to Dave that they needed a place to set your brush, etc. in the bathroom and 2 weeks later he sent me a photo of the new shelf he installed!!! Amazing!!

Incredible breakfast, prepared gluten free for my daughter. Friendly host, unique design and decoration.
