It was a great experience for me to be at the place. Ahmet loves showing you different places in his city. I was able to make my coconut oil and coffee in a traditional way. I saw the waterfalls and the traditional market as well. The landscape is magical, and it’s a peaceful place if you just want to relax.

Our stay at Syaqila homestay was perfect! The room is spotless and comfortable. Its so quiet and peaceful. There is a beautiful terrace above the room which has a hammock overlooking the beautiful ricefields. Ahmed and his family go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, happy and welcome. There is unlimited supply of tea and his home made coffee and it is delicious. The included breakfast was great and he also has a full menu to pick from for lunch and dinner for just a small fee. His cooking is so nice. He also offers to take you to see the rice fields, waterfalls and monkeys for a very reasonable price if you like. Ahmed and his family are just genuine people who want to make your time in Tetebatu perfect and unforgettable. He can also help with transfers to other towns and also offers cooking classes for a small fee. For the price, you really can't go wrong with what this place to offer.

The host’s walking tour and cooking class was great!

The mosque noise was unbearable! (Not hosts fault but beware)

"Unforgettable experience with an Indonesian family"

10.0

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Ahmed's Homestay in Tetebatu, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, Ahmed and his lovely family made us feel incredibly welcome. His warm and friendly personality instantly put us at ease, and he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. One of the highlights of our visit was Ahmed's incredible cooking. Every meal he prepared was delicious, showcasing the rich flavors of the local cuisine and the view from the dining room is stunning, overlooking palm trees and rice fields. What truly sets this homestay apart is Ahmed's genuine care for his guests. He was always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and happy. He took us around local villages to see crafts and the local market. If you're looking for an authentic, warm, and welcoming experience in Tetebatu, I highly recommend staying at Ahmed's Homestay. You'll not only enjoy a comfortable stay but also leave with fond memories of Ahmed's hospitality and kindness. It felt like family, we will definitely come back if we have the chance to.

"Wholesome family stay!"

9.0

The host, Amet, and his family treated us like family from the moment we arrived. They fulfilled all our needs from serving us homemade meals to special requests to all around making sure we felt cared for. I believe there is only one room, so special attention is given. Breakfast is served with a nice view and there are options to choose from. Amet processes his own coffee blended with vanilla. He offers various tours/activities like, but we didn’t partake since we had our own scooter and were able to explore on our own. It’s a good option for those who like to be guided and taken around. He can also assist with planning Rinjani treks. I also made some nice memories with Amet’s daughter and nieces playing on the hammock. Overall our stay was very wholesome! Thank you for everything :-)

The weather was a bit chilly and moist, and the bathroom stays quite wet. This is probably pretty common in Tetebatu. Mosque prayers can be heard multiple times a day. Also common in Tetebatu.

"A cozy paradise"

10.0

Choosing a place to stay in Tetebatu can feel quite a bit overwhelming given all the options, but gosh we were glad we slept at Amet's place! We were received with hot coffee, tea, sweet rice pudding and sweet potato crisps by Amet's friendly wife, and while she prepared our room (we had booked it only an hour before and surprised the family a bit, sorry about that!), we could enjoy the absolutely beautiful view from the terrace. Swinging in a hammock, you can see rice paddies and coconut trees in the South, and Mt. Rinjani in the North. In the evening, Amet served us the best food we've had in Indonesia so far - you MUST try the Olah Olah! After previous experience in other hotels and homestays, Amet opened the doors to his homestay only some weeks ago, so our room was brand new, clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable, and the night we spent was very quiet. Breakfast is good, and Amet takes his time to chat with his guests, so we sat on that veranda (did we say it has a beautiful view), talking in the morning breeze for a while before we unfortunately had to leave. If you have a chance to visit Tetebatu, stay with Amet's family!
