Redcot holiday bungalow

Good location for the wedding we were attending, comfy beds and one very good shower. The sheets were clean and the pillows were just about okay. Nothing special but adequate. The host seemed very nice. It was spacious and the garden is very pleasant. Unfortunately the weather was wet so we didn’t utilise the very nice outside space.The huge sky tv in the dining area is great. But it was slightly challenging to get it working. A lovely picture when we did.

It was not in a very high standard of cleanliness. The floors had been cleaned around the edges but not under tables chairs or beds. A previous guest had written “Dust” on the lampshade, but this has clearly been ignored letters as the letters are becoming obscured by new layers of dust. The sofa in the living room was covered by a blanket and it didn’t smell very nice. There are some unpleasant stains on the walls that indicate the house needs redecoration as well as a deep clean. The furniture is old and depressingly grubby and there’s too much of it. We had to clean all of the kitchen surfaces on arrival. None of the appliances seemed to work very well. The replacement oven (for the larger out of order oven as shown in the photos) didn’t seem to reach the temperature on the dial. It was pretty filthy as were all the oven trays. The microwave oven seemed temperamental for no apparent reason. The dishwasher was similarly poorly maintained and after loading it up we discovered it didn’t work at all so we had to wash everything by hand before the early 10 am check out. You’re charged £30 for every hour over this departure time if you request a late check out. Also would have been nice to have a lock on the bathroom door. Everyone in the house ended up using the communal bathroom downstairs because of the low water pressure in the one upstairs. This means access to the toilet became a little tricky for those using 3 the bedrooms downstairs. It has some odd quirks such as a washing line running the length of the hall which looks like it’s about to collapse. There’s a similar feature in the living room. If the house had been freshly cleaned and the furniture a little newer, I’m pretty sure this could be five star accommodation. It’s okay if you just want to use it for sleeping. I hate to give this place a poor review but I have never stayed anywhere quite so grubby and I truly regret not booking alternative, perhaps more expensive, accommodation for our family event.

It was a big place, deceptive from the front. Ideal for kids and couples. It was very well stocked with equipment.

The house is stunning. Perfect for a group of five of us, staying in the area for a couple of nights for a wedding. It's very spacious with a lovely big kitchen/ dining room and a big lounge. Thanks for decorating it for christmas. It made us feel very festive.The beds are very comfortable. There was ample equipment in the kitchen. Lots of games and dvds for entertainment and TVs in every room.

The radiator wasn't working in the lounge which made it too cold to sit in, but the owner came round as soon as we contacted him and provided a back up heater which did the job.

Everything was very good, well equipped and nicely done

The bungalow is very spacious and absolutely the best equipped property we have ever stayed in. It was comfortable. Ideal for larger groups. Wished I could have stayed longer..
