The Rainforest Hideaway

We (a family with two young kids) spent two nights at The Rainforest Hideaway and had a great time. The last part of the journey by jeep was a real adventure for the kids and one of the highlights. The hosts are super friendly, really warm and very well organised, so you always feel well looked after. The food was great and the portions were huge – we always left the table feeling full and satisfied.

We'll knock off just one point for the cleanliness of the rooms. The pillows had a slightly musty smell, which was a bit disappointing. All in all, it's a great place for families.

Sahara was an excellent communicator and organized everything we needed including transportation, activities and amazing walking tours through the Sinharaja UNESCO nature reserve. The river is swimmable right outside your door. Had a great massage and lovely meals.

It’s the jungle so you share space with it.

Such a lovely stay here. All the staff were so lovely. Can’t get any more relaxing than this. Breakfast and dinner were so tasty and decent sizes. We did a morning tour into the rain forest which was incredible and our tour guide Charith was amazing. The road to the property is via Jeep only but it’s an experience!

Super schön gelegene Bungalows direkt am Fluss bzw mitten im Wald. Man wird vom Parkplatz mit dem Allradwagen abgeholt und über eine kleine abenteuerliche Straße direkt zur Unterkunft gebracht. Dort kann man den Fluss und die Waldgeräusche genießen. Alle sind außerordentlich nett und aufmerksam. Die Absprachen waren total unkompliziert und schnell per WhatsApp möglich. Wir haben eine tolle Tour durch den Regenwald zu einem Wasserfall gebucht und viele exotische Tiere gesehen. Zusätzlich hatten wir noch Massagen gebucht, die auch durch die tolle Umgebung sehr besonders waren. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr lecker und konnte vorab gebucht werden, so dass man keine Wartezeiten hatte, was besonderes mit den Kindern sehr angenehm war. Ich kann es nur empfehlen, eine tolle Erfahrung.

The river is great for a refreshing swim. The rooms are spacious and clean. We did the longest hike to Lions rock with our 2 x 10 year old kids. It was a tough hike at 22km round trip but saw lots of birds, reptiles and fish in the streams. A real adventure. Our guide Asanka was fantastic - we also did a night hike and saw the rare slender loris with a baby.

Domek położony nad samą rzeką w lesie deszczowym i daje to swoj urok. Bardzo mili właściciele i cała obsługa. Pyszne jedzenie. Słychać szum wody i odgłosy lasu.

Brakuje informacji o dojeździe do samego domku. Nie jest on możliwy zwykłym samochodem. Właściciel wysyła terenowy samochod i jedziesz bardzo trudna drogą. Brak kosmetyków do mycia chociaż na stronie jest napisane że sa na wyposażeniu. Ręczniki widać że bardzo zużyte i tylko jeden na osobę do całego ciała. Brak ciepłej wody w umywalce pod prysznicem tylko słaby strumień. Takie informacje powinny być umieszczone lub zmienione na stronie hotelu szczególnie o dojeździe i braku kosmetyków.

Großartige Lage direkt am Fluss Gin Ganga, der laut tösend vor der Haustüre den weisen Ton angibt! Absolutes Naturerlebnis, Badeplätze fantastisch, gutes Essen, sehr freundliches und kompetentes Personal!

Kein Moskitonetz (das bräuchte es unbedingt, obwohl keine Moskitos da sind, gibt es allerlei anderes Getier).

The staff were amazing. They organised everything you needed. The river running through the place is stunning and you’re fully immersed in nature.

There were some gaps and holes in the rooms, so was bitten quite badly by mosquitos. A mosquito net would be useful!
