Borneo Jungle Adventure

We booked the 3D2N package with Borneo Jungle Adventure, including accommodation in a lodge with fan but no AC, airport transfers from and to Sandakan, three delicious home-cooked meals per day, coffee, juice, tea and water all day long, one jungle day walk, and the daily river cruises. From the very first pickup until the moment we were dropped off at the airport, everything was perfectly organized. The entire team works together like a well-oiled machine, yet they make you feel as though you are part of their own family. The hospitality was simply outstanding. Every single staff member welcomed us with genuine warmth, kindness, and beautiful smiles. It is rare to meet people who care so deeply about making their guests happy. And the food… honestly, some of the best we have enjoyed anywhere in the world! Every meal was freshly prepared, incredibly flavorful, beautifully varied, and clearly cooked with love. We looked forward to every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The cooks were even kind enough to share a few of their recipes with me, which I cannot wait to try back home. Thank you so much for that special gesture! The two daily boat cruises (6:30 AM and 4:00 PM, approximately two hours each) were another highlight. Our guide, Mark, together with our boat captain, worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best possible wildlife experience. Their knowledge, passion, and sharp eyes made every trip exciting. We were incredibly fortunate to see 4 of Borneo’s Big 5 wildlife species. Sadly, we did not see orangutans in the wild, but that is simply the reality today, as they have become increasingly difficult to find due to the ongoing loss of their natural habitat. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a private en-suite bathroom. Although there was no air conditioning, the fan was more than sufficient, and we slept very well while enjoying the authentic jungle atmosphere. We’ve had no insects or geckos in the room!

La posizione. Immerso nella natura. Le escursioni sono state molto belle. Il cibo molto buono. La camera ampia e pulita.

Avrei dotato le camere di aria condizionata ed aggiungerei una piscina per ingannare il tempo tra una escursione e l'altra, sono stato anche in Amazzonia in un posto simile a questo e li c'era una piscina a disposizione dove potersi rinfrescare ed aspettare l'inizio delle escursioni. Essendo molto caldo ed umido ed essendo le camere sprovviste di aria condizionata, l'unica cosa che si può fare nei momenti morti è attendere nell'area comune dove vengono serviti i pasti sotto ai ventilatori sperando di non essere aggrediti dalle zanzare.

An incredible adventure in an extraordinary place - a must-do when in Borneo! You’ll have a very immersive experience because you’re located right in the jungle, so it’s common to see animals such as monitor lizards and macaques wondering around the site. The food is delicious and plentiful, and takes into account dietary requirements. Best of all, the guides, Kai and Marc, are highly knowledgeable about the wildlife and local area, and they speak excellent English. They facilitate magical rainforest experiences.

My bed and pillows were pretty hard and my back was in a bit of pain afterwards. I’d recommend replacing them.

The location is wonderful, the staff are the nicest people , the guides really know their stuff and the food was good and plenty of it

Le guide est vraiment top, ainsi que l’emplacement au milieu de la jungle ! Les repas sont bons

Les chambres sont rustique et la salle de bain laisse à désirer, on a l’impression qu’on essaie de nous prendre de l’argent pour tout : des jumelles pour 2h à 8€ ? Il faut payer 100€ de plus pour pouvoir voir les éléphants… L’enfant présent crie à répétition et nous jette de la terre dessus sans que les parents ne disent rien

L'immersion dans la jungle

Des structures vetustes. Manque d'animations, de vie en dehors des activités et options.

Es la experiencia completa de la jungla. Lo recomiendo si esto previo está en los planes. Muy amables los locales.

Muchos bichos, algo normal en la jungla. Recomiendo llevar snacks. La comida es limitada, si eres especialito, puedes pasarla mal. No hay muchas opciones. Pero todo casero.

De lodge ligt op een prachtige lokatie midden in de jungle. Van te voren een paar keer gemaild met hen en ze reageren meteen. Het is heel makkelijk om er te komen, we werden opgehaald uit Sandakan. Terug werden we meteen bij het vliegveld afgezet. Het eten was heerlijk. De Safari tochten zijn goed geregeld. We hebben mooie dieren gezien waarbij 3 keer Orang-oetans, heel bijzonder.

Het enige wat ik kan bedenken is dat het iets beter onderhouden mag worden. Het was allemaal een beetje smoezelig.
