Ambengan Private Villas

This property offers exceptionally good value for money. The villa and the pool area and the bathroom are all quite large size. The location is pretty central to a lot of what the island has to offer.

The road into the property itself was exceptionally rough, but that is true of most roads on Nusa Penida . The TV didn’t work nor did the safe.

The property is lovely with all the facilities you need, the bed is very big and comfortable and the pool is crystal clear

The only issue is the property is a little out the way but the owner is very good at responding and was able to sort private drivers for us the whole time we were there

The beautiful pool! Is very remote so is perfect if you want to be alone. I hired a driver through them which took me around the important spots in the island. People were very nice. Only locals there with the biggest smiles!

Unfortunately… is in a really remote place and rural which means that there are a lot of chickens, rosters who make noise at all times 23pm… 3am… and dogs. There is nothing near by so you have to order through them food; one morning I couldn’t have breakfast because the restaurant was closed. You need a car or scooter to go anywhere.

Property was amazing, staff were extremely friendly. Slight language barrier but we communicated effectively through google translate. They even had the room ready for us to check in at 10am

Location is isolated, organise a driver or scooter for your day before getting out there.

Lots of bugs and spiders get into the room! I know this time of year, that is normal though. Not a great location to go see things, about an hour away from most cliff look-outs.

Large room and private pool. Ellya the host was fantastic and so helpful.

The room has mould on the roof and could do with a bit of tlc. The shower also needs upgrading.

Property is exactly how it’s described , owner super nice . Even rented us a scooter of her own . Pool is super nice and clean .

Road to the villa is a little pot holed but once you get used to it , it’s ok . Villa need some restoration as it has some little things broken but not the end of the world .

The water was hot, the air con and kettle worked.

No toilet paper, no soap, pool went green, gaps in door were wide enough to put my hand through. The power points were a fire hazard and got incredibly hot after only a few minutes of use. The tv did not work. The glasses were dirty upon arrival, towel rail broken, walls and ceiling showing signs of water damage. But the worst part is that the punishing tropical sun is on the tiny deck from 8 am until sunset, making it unusable. No cleaning for 4 days, including bins. We paid cash up front for 8 days but left after 4 days. No refund but we found a much better spot for 1/3 of the cost. We understand that ceremony is an important part of Balinese life, but accepting our booking and then altering it due to 'ceremony' plus then not emptying bins or throwing us a clean towel for four days for the same reason is not good enough for the very high price we paid. Also, two men appeared from under the pool equipment unannounced and were suddenly on the deck while we napped. (The pool of the adjoining villa was obviously connected somehow) I absolutely do not recommend this place.

I loved the isolation. Left alone by the staff so it felt really quiet. Set in a small village a 5 min walk to the main road where there are a few simple warungs and a store, Desa store for supplies. Staff available on WA for anything you need. Rural sounds and comfortable place to unwind.

Couldn’t work out the TV but that was ok.
