Very nice Host, just 100m to the beach, you’re basically alone in the jungle .. quiet, clean & comfortable 🙏🏼

The house has everything needed, a comfy bed, air con, a small kitchen to cook simple menus and a shower with good water pressure. It is located only 2 min from the beach and directly in the jungle. We could see monkeys, leguans and crabs at night, which was very nice and exciting. The host is also very nice, he drove us to a docotor when we needed one and organised our trip to Kandy for a good price. I can definitely recommend this house for nature loving people that want to be close to the beach.

We really liked the location - being right in the jungle despite being just 1 min walk from the beach. We were able to sit and watch the wildlife (lizards, monkeys, turtles) from the hammock and then wander to the beach for a swim. The hammock was really comfy to laze in and the bed was big and perfect for a good night's sleep. We appreciated having a fridge and small kitchen to be able to make a few dishes at home and also found the room to be well equipped (with table, lockable cupboard and a clothes rail). We also loved the delicious local breakfasts made by the hosts.

On one night there was noise from a nearby bar (for a one-off event), but we were able to sleep through it ok with the windows closed.

The location is close to the beach, however it is overlooking the swamps. The road leading to the hut is very rocky. It is a very simple house, pretty pricy for what you get (we stayed in Sri Lanka in similar places for half the price).

We loved our Stay at the Freedomhouse! The Location is just ideal if you want to be on your own and surrounded by nature but also super close (100meter) to the Beach to go surfing or chill and just around the corner to many restaurants and massageplaces! You can also watch some pretty cool animals from the hammock on the terrace. The owners were super kind and polite and checked in on us from time to time. We were even allowed to stay a bit longer before checkin out and got a super friendly taxi driver organised who brought us to Uluwalawa. We loved everything there and would definitely come again!

Cute cottage in the jungle, just one minute away from Hiriketiya beach. A/C is installed and can be used for an additional charge. Monkeys and squirrels roam the area during the day and turtles and crabs in the night. Friendly host!

Beware of the dogs on the beach. One dog bit me, resulting into several trips to the Matara Hospital. But this has nothing to do with the host or the accommodation.
