Khounphet Heritage House

We stayed in a family room, and also a twin room. Both were perfectly clean and spacious. Good AC. Bathrooms were big and clean. Beds were ideal. Friendly and helpful staff.

Staff is very helpful they helped me book train tickets and travel to Kuang si waterfall. Breakfast was wonderful.

Good location in a quiet part of town with a 2 min walk in either direction to the river and all cafes, restaurants, boat trips and sunset views. Hot water boiler and tea and coffee free 24hrs and good to have free drinking water.

Attitude of reception staff (always same person). Room that I booked was not available on arrival and I was moved to the worst room on the road. I was told I could move the next day. It was not the room that I had booked but I reluctantly agreed to move but was then told I was too late and it was given to another guest. The receptionist shouted at me and using Google translate kept shouting that I had refused the room. It was a 5 night booking which I thought was valuable but apparently not. They also cancelled my friend’s one night booking. They insisted on payment on arrival when I stepped through the door. There was no welcome and it seemed that money was more important than the guests. English was not really understood and it was hard to convey my dissatisfaction. I can’t understand why this property has exceptional reviews.
