We visited Lucca last year so knew where this apartment was located when booking. The hosts were very friendly with good communication (even when I changed our arrival time twice) We wanted to be close to the Music Festival for Bryan Adams, perfect distance! The outside terrace was a welcome addition, in fact we never bothered with the living room as enjoyed sitting there with our wine (thank you!) listening to the hustle bustle of the piazza. There is a bar that does play quite loud music in the evening, with a DJ when we were there - it was really good and we didn’t mind it at all! Earlier we had classical and opera in the building behind us! This is a generous sized apartment and has been decorated/furnished really well. The beds and pillows are so comfy. You can hear people in the piazza below, but don’t let this put you off, it added to its charm. The kitchen is large and has everything for a short stay; an addition of some coffee would have been good☺️ We will be back!

Location is on a piazza that can get noisy at night and when they set up for market days.

The Italian authenticity, the central location and the jasmine scented large terrace with views of Lucca cathedral.

The location was perfect with great views. The spaciousness was unexpected and welcome. The TV and options was high quality. We appreciated the welcome package. We used the outdoor space frequently.

Bathroom was clean but a little dated. Access to terrance was steep and narrow which would not suit people with mobility issues.

This is a sensational location, in the old residential part of the attached original Cathedral. It overlooks the Cathedral square and a wonderful walled garden. It is spacious and has the real feeling of living in an old palace. But the essentials are modern and all work well. It is quiet, and you have a grand entrance (people are often sitting on the steps to the entrance doors and are amazed when they find you needing to access the huge wooden doors!).

We really didn't have any problems at all.

We didn't want to leave! It was a privilege to stay in this historic flat on a beautiful piazza. I felt like royalty. The flat stayed beautifully cool and breezy. The huge kitchen was well-equipped, although we only made coffee, and modern enough. The bonus was a rooftop terrace that I didn't notice in the property description. I was a little concerned that the bedroom overlooking the piazza would be noisy, but it was quiet by 10 p.m. and quiet in the morning until 11 a.m. You should note that the bedrooms aren't equal. The master bedroom is large, bright and beautiful. The other two are smaller; the third has a bed that's not quite large enough for two. This would be a brilliant stay for a couple with kids, a single couple like we are, or even two couples.

As is typical in Rome, there were four decent pillows among the three beds.
