The food was amazing!!

Everything was great!

Staff was extremely friendly and able to fully correspond in English. Dinner and breakfast were both beautiful, unique and delicious. They really cater to making the most of the regional Tochigi cuisine and specialties. Room was clean and all the amenities were well though out and high quality. The room with the open air bath was well worth it alone so everything else was a bonus. I did not check out the public bath due to tattoo policy.

Hard to book direct from website in English, but luckily everything went smoothly using booking.com. I have no complaints with the property or staff.

The bath was great, the room was beautiful and very large, the location on Lake Chūzenji was very convenient for bus access to Nikko. The lake view was wonderful.

The fact that they offer hotel reservations without dinner and then tell you that there are no dinner options available near the hotel and that you'll need to cancel your reservation and create a new one to get dinner is pretty unpleasant. The bus stops running between Nikkō and Chūzenji at around 6pm. So you should either have your own vehicle or make sure to make a reservation with dinner. The hotel is oriented towards domestic tourists which means that a lot of the signage isn't in English (for example, the instructions for getting free drinks at reception, the descriptions of the drinks in the baths, the bus schedules, the maps...) and the English proficiency of the staff is limited. Not a big deal but different than other hotels we stayed at.
